Because she's been so secretive about it, I take it she waited until right before to make her announcement because Patrick has a big mouth.
Agree, Patrick M has been opening his big mouth again lately, I wish someone would put a sock in it.
Quite frankly I think there has been more to their break up, then will ever know.

Yeah, Patrick didn’t want to hang around. I don’t know, there’s something about that bloke, I don’t rate him too high.

Great news about Serena! Her and Roger getting closer to returning to the game, it’s all good news!
He really is an excellent coach and he was just what Serena needed at that time in 2012. I'm sure his academy flourished because of her name. But the relationship he had w/ her will be different w/ others. You can't just pair someone with him and produce another Serena. That being said, I don't know how much of a gent he is since he has a big mouth and doesn't know when to shut up.

I'm sure Serena has been paying him all this time she was off the tour, but he wanted to coach again so he gave her that ultimatum in April about playing the clay. She didn't show up and that was his answer. So now we know why they unfollowed him on Twitter. :lulz1:

Agree at the time he was a great coach for Serena, though when a coach has to keep telling the whole world what champions he has produced or work with I am not impressed.I mean Serena was a champion player before, Patrick was her coach.

I just had a thought Darren Cahill is back, oh the irony if he coached Serena on the grass lol!

Good win for Ons Jabeur, her first appearance on grass at Berlin defeating Muchova 63 63

Another disappointing result for Garbine Muguruza, defeated by Petkovic 76(8) 64

Agree, Darren is a great coach and not mouthy lol!
I think there are some coaches that respect privacy, and they understand that putting something out there in the universe not only affects you, but the person you coach. I think Patrick doesn’t realize that. You have to be careful when giving your opinion on things because it most certainly will come back to you, but it may spill over onto your charge.

This new energy might be a great thing for Serena. It would be kind of cool if Venus ended up coaching Serena for a bit. I think that would motivate Serena as she wouldn’t want to disappoint Venus. A full circle moment.

Agree with your thoughts, I was just putting Cahill out there, because he is back from his sabbatical in Australia, he needed a break from tennis.

He would definitely be some good eyes and ears for her. He could definitely help her with great tactics to shorten points to make her life easier.
Agreed. And he could give her tactics on each opponent as she moves through the draw. Darren is a technical mastermind. He gave Halepino the game plan that decimated Serena in that Wimby final.

It’s the biggest sign that a break up is for real - unfollowed on Twitter! :lulz1:

I'm sorry. I understand that was a difficult day for you. I apologize to the nth degree for my insensitivity. :teddy-bear::lol6:
I think it was a very difficult day for Serena fans full stop.Cahill masterminded that win for Halep, she followed his tactics on court and came up with a great win against Serena. If my memory was correct Tossip, yourself was live on line in that match,
I sat on my lounge with my mouth wide open, I was stunned lol!

Yes, we (and a few others) were there live. All I kept thinking at the time was this is a repeat of 2018 when Kerbie clobbered her.

I kept thinking, at the next final she would get out of her own way and call up the GS Serena of old.
