Meaning both are just ball bashers playing with a low margin of errors..for to these two players to win they have to be very precise.
Congratulations to Naomi Osaka the 2021 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year!!!!!!!!!!
On the court,Osaka made it two USO titles in three years.Off it,she demonstrated oncredible activism and support for the Black Live Matter movement.
Both of these were excellent choices. Well-deserved. Big year for tennis at the Laureus Awards.Congratulations to Billie Jean King who is the 2021 Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award Winner. She founded the WTA in 1973 on the principle of equal opportunity and won 129 singles titles during her career.
Sad thing with Garcia I feel she could have let it a bit late, she has the game,I hope with this new coach he can finally gets the results, her potential has been wasted with her father. With the recent announcements that Caroline Garcia and Sofia Kenin are changing their coaching, ie no longer using their fathers , not gonna lie I think it's high time. I've always been wary of these daughter/father coaching situations for a myriad of reasons. Not making a blanket statement that it's always unhealthy or harmful, but the interpersonal dynamics can get so complicated. The blended control of an authority figure father and coach, how do you separate things? If I had a dime for every time these WTA father coaches have clamed only they knew their daughters games well enough.....
Both Sofia and Caroline mentioned taking control of their careers and lives:
Kenin "and I felt like now was the time for me to do what I wanted to do myself in terms of my tennis, my career. . "
Garcia: "It was my decision," "Today, I am more sure of myself, I have more confidence in myself, it was perhaps the right moment for this evolution."
Wishing them both well.
