I was going to start a thread for Lexington,though work at times has got in the way.It is being shown live on Tennis Channel,though I am not a American lol! some interesting match ups.Serena was rusty,to be expected got through her match,Vika needs more match play,Venus was far too strong for her.

Some sad news,

Carla Suarez Navarro has been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma a few days ago,she withdrew from the USO,this year was to be her final year on the tour.Carla will need six months of chemotherapy.

Clara Tauson is on her way in Prague - her biggest win until now - well she's only 17

Clara lost the mental play and lost - played . a nice controlled first set 6-1 lost the second 1-6 and lost the third 3-6. She's in the top 200 now.

News just in from Ash Barty,

It has been a difficult decision to make but unfortunately I will not be competing in Europe this year.
There are two reasons for my decision.
The first is health risks that still exist with COVID
The second is my preparation,which has not been ideal without my coach being able to train with me due to the state border closures in Australia.

After 9 months,Dayana Yastremska,ranked No25,announced the termination with her coach Sasha Bajin after her 2nd rd exit at the USO.Dayana will be announcing her new coach for season 2021 in November.

Congratulations to unseeded doubles pair Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva (another Mum) who defeated 3rd seeds Melichar/Xu 64 64 winning the USO Ladies Doubles Champions.
This is the 3rd USO title for Zvonareva ( 2006 Doubles,2004 Mixed) and second for Siegemund (2016 Mixed).
