The WTA is taking bids to host this year's WTA Finals somewhere other than Shenzhen.Bids have included Prague and Hawaii.Announcement expected by the end of RG 20.

WTA ASB Tennis Classic Auckland in January 2021 has been cancelled due to complications running the event amid COVID19 pandemic.

There are now 2 WTA events scheduled to be played following Roland Garos.
Premier level tournament in Ostrava beginning October 19.
Austrian event,Linz,originally scheduled for this week,will instead be played in four weeks starting November 7.

Taylor Townsend has announced she is pregnant,the 24 year old is due in March.

Charleston VolvoCar Tennis Tournament will undergo extensive renovations which are expected to be completed by the fall of 2021.
The tournament will still take place in 2021 though in a temporay stadium.

Marketa Vondrousova has tested positive for coronavirus and will not play at next week's event in Ostrava.
Other players who have withdrawn from the event include,Petra Kvitova,Johanna Konta and Angelique Kerber,along with Sloane Stephens in qualifying-though due to injury or scheduling decisions.
Coco Gauff has been given a WC into qualifying.
The event being played with no spectators.

French Open winner Iga Swiatek will quarantine,after she met Polish President Andrzej Duda who subsequently tested positive for coronavirus.
"Neither I or members of my team have symptons of coronavirus.We carry out tests regularly.We will quarantine ourselves in accordance with the current procedures", the 19 year old said in a Twitter post.

Some good news Melbourne is out of their lock down and the state government has announced that the cricket which is a annual event on Boxing Day at the MCG in Melbourne will allow up to 25,000 fans in 2021.Craig Tiley is working with all the state governments to open their border for next year,He wants to create a bubble like that was held at the USO and the French Open.All players will have to go into a 2 week quarantine,as he said he cannot expect players to have to quarantine and not be able to practice especially before a Grand Slam event.All the lead up tournaments,Brisbane, South Australia,ATP Cup and the Tasmania tournament are still on,just waiting for more confirmation from Craig Tiley.

Taylor Townsend has announced she is pregnant,the 24 year old is due in March.

Doing the math,she was pregnant while she was competing in the US Open. Taylor picked the prime of career to become a mother. I saw a lot of promise in her 2021 campaign. I doubt that she will be back on the tour until late 2022. This break in tour will cost her a lot of prize money and the few sponsors or endorsements if she had any.
