Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jamie Murray successfully defended their US Open mixed doubles title! 6-2, 6-3 over Chan and Michael Venus

I am soo happy for Bethanie she had to have another operation on her knee earlier this year....what a fighter....Well Done!

Mertens/Sabalenka just won the doubles championship, beating Azarenka/Barty. Championship point was painful: Azarenka missed a smash, a la Djokovic. Congrats to the winners!
Congrats to Mertens/Sabalenka for a great championship and tournament.

I saw the last five minutes. Ugh. That overhead. Vika can’t serve to save her life. Why overhead? She should have hit a high slice or swing volley.

Did not Maria also study here when she was going through her prison sentence for Meldonium?

Is she coming back for singles or doubles?
She hasn't said anything about that but I think it's primarily single. As a former World No.1, Clijsters is eligible for unlimited wild cards at WTA tournaments. She will need play three tournaments or earn 10 ranking points to re-establish a ranking.

Saw the Clijsters news early this morning and was THRILLLLLLLLLLLLED! So glad to have her back. Serena showing other greats that they can keep going at 36 too! That it's never too late. Clijsters already came back and won slams as a mother. I am actually a little surprised by this though. When she left the last time, I thought she'd come back. But in like, a couple years. Once she didn't, and especially once she got to the 5 year point, which you have to have in order to get into the hall of fame, and then she got into the hall of fame, I really didn't think she'd come back. But super glad to have her back. More depth on tour. We'll see if she can play at the level she did 7 years ago.

But I mean. If she feels healthy, right now is the highest prize money the tour has ever offered. She's smart to get back in and get that paper. A few slam semis and a couple titles and the return will have been more than worth it.

Also nice to see Wozniacki head to Harvard business. Good for her.

maybe her money is running out and has to feed her husband and three kds..
I like Kim but she most likely will get her butt spanking like Serena by these younger players. Hey, maybe she needs the dough

Me too never understood the attention she used to get.She has to make that paper because her husband doesnt have a good job.I hope the youngsters sent her back into retirement...
