The last time she came back, she played exactly three tourneys and then played USO and won it. It is a real shame to the entire tour of WTA that someone gives birth, comes back and wins a GS in a jiffy.

But, I don't think it will happen again (at least to Kim).

Me too never understood the attention she used to get.She has to make that paper because her husband doesnt have a good job.I hope the youngsters sent her back into retirement...

I really can't see her lasting on the tour for that long,she is in for one Huge Shock....just fitness wise for one thing.Why cant players retire graciously,she was a commentator for tennis in her retirement,on the WTA tour and a good one at that.

I also distinctly remember that once Kim came back to the tour and had some success, Justine Henin also copied her and tried to stage a come back. It backfired and she quickly re-retired.

I really like Henin's backhand, the best ever I think in WTA. I really hated her gamesmanship w.r.t. not admitting to hand signal in the match vs. Serena. But, I am willing to forgive her for that as it was not a pattern, but a one time thing and that too very early in the career.

She really caused a huge stir by retiring while being #1. I cannot remember any other player who retired while being ranked #1.

I would assume that if Serena saw her across the net in a grandslam final, she would play better than she has against the younger players currently on WTA tour.

Bianca Andresscu has withdrawn from WTA events in Osaka and Wuhun following her win at the USO,leaving only two events scheduled for the rest of the season-Beijing and the WTA Tour Finals in Shenzhen.If she qualifies for the eight player field.Andreescu said that her goal now was to 'qualify for the WTA Final and crack the Top 3 this season.No1 Ash Barty,is the only pro to have qualified for the WTA Finals,so far,leaving seven spots open.

It has been postponed indefinitely Friday because of widespread protests in the region.Tournament had been scheduled from October 5th-13th on outdoor courts at Victoria Park.If the tournament is delayed by more than a week,it would clash with two end of season events,Elite Trophy and WTA finals.Shortly after that comes the Fed Cup final between France and Australia.

I just read that news on the WTA...she has not played since 2008 and Golovin had to retire due to chronic back inflammation?
apparently she also did work as a commentator for tennis.

I wonder which player will be next to come out of retirement?

Halep said she and Cahill broke up because he didn’t want to travel. I guess that was a lie. Anyone know the details of why they split?

I predict Osaka will eventually get together with Bajian. He had a huge impact on her success. How long can she deny that?

The reason I read regarding their breakup was Darren wanted to spend more time with his family,though he did say he would love to coach Simona again down the track full time.
