Lucky Loser Polona Hercog will replace Osaka in the draw. Magdalena Rybarikova has also been forced to withdraw from the tournament with upper respiratory illness. She will be replaced by Lucky Loser Monica Niculescu.

That is surprising. The rumor mill had it that the attacker was someone having some sort of relationship with Petra. The news story says that the attacker did not know whose house he was entering. Also, bad title for the article. The attacker will get up to 12 years in prison, if found guilty. It is not that they have already found him guilty.

Rarely an active player ranked in top 100 goes into such business. Does such focus switch mean she's ready to retire soon? Too early IMO, she's got some work on court to do. Take on Serena, because Serena despite being 8y her senior and having started 10y earlier (and now mother!), Serena's still on top, has always dominated Aga (except one HC match which does not really count) including 2012 Wimby title denial, and still looking to eclipse Aga at the career end? Sounds even unfair. But Serena is just super-human: comparing her to any other tennis woman of her generation will always sound unfair.
