After her disappointing appearances in AO, RG and Wimby. Pliskobot dismisses another coach and hires Renee Stubbs.

A good gossip news very fitting for this thread.
I wonder what you think of Serena's "opened up about [...] decision to stop breastfeeding—at the suggestion of her male coach":
https://hellogiggles.com/news/serena-williams-stopped-breastfeeding-male-coach-advice/
Who is more inappropriate here: Serena by making public the news that should be confidential between her & her coach, or her coach for being intolerant to her private life choices, i.e. her maternal life overriding tennis life.

I think this emphasis of "male coach" is probably more of tabloidal nature.

At least Serena had a legitimate professional reason to stop bfing. But, there are lot of regular women who stop much earlier than Serena as they are afraid it may affect their looks. At the same time, I guess it is not necessary these days for the actual growth of the child. It is probably necessary more as an emotional bonding thing.

I don't think so. Serena said explicitely that her male coach does not understand her maternal feelings, quote:
"It’s absolutely hard to take from a guy," Williams told Time. “He’s not a woman, he doesn’t understand that connection
Ergo, a "male coach" thing is a central issue in Williams mind, not a "tabloidal" spin.

OK, no one opined on my question about this news so far, so I'd pronounce my opinion first and see if anyone cares to chime in.
The objective opinion depends on how Patrick Mouratoglou did tell her his advice. It could have been told very impolitely in which case Serena's reaction is understandable. However, for lack of any information, I assume that Patrick told her in a polite and professional manner that her maternal duties are in conflict with her desire to be in "top form" and she must make a difficult decision.
With said assumption above, and given Serena's history of abusive behaviours when she becomes emotional (e.g. the abuse of lineswoman for calling a footfalt in her USO loss against Kim, the tirade against umpire for interference call, in her USO loss against Stosur), I have no doubt we are dealing with a similar, abusive rant here. A little more calculated and prolonged rant, because Serena's "emotions" herein, are more longer term feelings of maternal duty.
At face value, the assertion that "He [Patrick] is not a woman, he doesn’t understand that" means segregation of people by sex without any reason other than with the intention to denigrate one of the sexes. That's a textbook definition of misogyny, or "reverse-misogyny" if you want to call it that way. There was absolutely no reason to segregate into sexes in this case. And even if Patrick really "doesn’t understand that", he wasn't hired for it and it has nothing to do with how good he does his job so he should not be denigrated for his misunderstanding.
Elite tennis athletes (e.g. Fed) say that player-coach relationship is tricky at this level. One thing seems certain: it must be a relationship of mutual respect, like between good friends. Patrick & Serena are no longer friends so Serena just became coach-less. And I think she will be coach-less for awhile, because after her misogynistic rant, no one who has any dignity will assume such role. I can only wish Serene that she reconsider and apologise.

Did I miss something? Did Patrick say he was no longer going to coach Serena?

Chris believes that in view of this issue, they will no longer be friends even though he may be coaching her.

I think the whole thing is just an unnecessary blow up by him. Patrick will continue to coach Serena and they will be friends also.

Watch out US Open -Sabalenka means trouble. Youngest winner since Caroline won in 2010, who was the youngest winner back in 2008 as 18 year old -and what a career she's had.

As quoted on the WTA website:

“I was looking forward to coming back to Tianjin to defend my title but unfortunately I need to give myself time to recover from injury,” Sharapova told Tianjin organizers in a statement. “I am disappointed that I won’t be able to play in front of all of the fans in Tianjin again and I hope to be able to play there in the future.

“I wish everyone at the tournament a successful five-year anniversary.”

Naomi Osaka is in A report from The Times says that she is set to ink a contract renewal with Adidas worth £6.5 million (approximately $8.5 million) when her current contract expires at the end of the year.

Not bad eh?
