I think I have come to the conclusion that I hate this next gen group of tennis players both WTA and ATP. They have no sense of pride or fight. It is like the accomplishment of winning a slam or Olympic medal is lost on them, and it doesn't drive them on to at least give it their all.

It is time to take back your remark with stunning performances by JMDP and MP today.

I'm not taking my remark back until it happens on a consistent basis my remark stands. I am happy for both of them, but one tournament does not an entire year make. Sure they gave their all and got it done, and I am happy for them, but can they make it happen consistently.

JMDP will be as consistent as one can be modulo his wrist issues.

The jury is out on Monica. However, I hope that this win inspires Monica to perform well on the tour. Can you imagine this is just her second title in career.

Also, nobody can say that Monica lucked out. She defeated Garbine Muguraza, the current French Open Champion, Petra Kvitova, two time Wimbledon Champion and Angelique Kerber, the current AO Champion and Wimbledon Finalist en route to her Gold Medal. She fully deserves it. :clap :clap :clap

It's called humility and an innate appreciation for teamwork. Biles was raised the right way.

yes she seems mature for her age but comes off as a regular giggly sweet teenager...even though she is so tiny she has a steely resolve and talent that Keys and Scone lack..I think Scone struggles with low self esteem and waste her time being jealous of the sisters.Keys also has major low self esteem and doesnt believe she is good enough and spent a lot of time running from herself...:popcorn

why is Muguruza passive aggressive towards Serena...she reminds me of Dementieva who would say derogatory stuff and blame that on language...
she is behaving all that and a bag of chips especially after that IW man mentioned her name, she is now trying really hard to be pova...cant stand her flat screen overrated smug behind.

To stop all coaching rumors - Caroline has just tweetet this:

Caroline Wozniacki
‏@CaroWozniacki

The coaching speculation is annoying. Only truth is that David Kotyza stopped because of family reasons.

So he has stopped but was not fired as many believes.

Speaking of coaching rumors.. Although Sloane has withdrawn due to foot injury(it really should be he coach K Murray who should have an foot injury from kicking a wall or etc about his head case of a player.) I am hearing from my peeps from the Chi that they have split.. have anyone else heard of possible coaching change.

This has nothing to do with Woz's recent performance which I know has been hampered by the ankle injury. However, I wonder why she thought David would be a good coach. What did he do for Petra who wins or loses for no reason whatsoever? Has anyone seen evidence that he is good?

I noticed Bouchard is now coached by some French guy, not Saviano. What happened there? The new coach is as clueless as Saviano. They both told her not to back off the baseline against Petra. That is laughable.

Sloane is not coachable, in my opinion. All that speed and power should propel her to top five, but she doesn't have a champion's mentality. You can't teach that.

Sloane does not have killer instinct and that cannot be taught.

However, Sloane, also is very weak in basic point construction and that can be taught.

True.. Sloane problem is that she is a head case.. She reminds me of Vera zvonareva aka Miss Drama Z.. same type of player speedy type of player but not as consistent as Vera was. Vera would explode during a match whereas Sloane implodes consistently. Sloane has more power but tennis mind and mentally is much weaker.

Very happy for Ms. Drama Z. She did give it a go last year after her injuries, but I understand how difficult it is to come back after family life takes over (Vika will soon find out).
