Oy... Martina has always been ruthless with her doubles partners. That hasn't changed.

Really? You think so? I can only remember her cutting off Anna K. for acting too big for her britches! She forgot who she was playing with and Martina had to dismiss her; even though they won AO Doubles! I guess some rumors can be floating around! What ya got? :puzzled:s

Well from what I have just read from Sania Mirza she decided to split with Hsieh Su-Wei,with whom she had started the year with after Cara Black retired. Her reason for the split was 'My results with Hsieh have not been extraordinary in the five tournaments we played since January.Hsieh is not feeling comfortable while playing on the advantage court and feels she's struggling to make the adjustment.I tried playing on the backhand side in Doha and we did reach the final but I feel I am unable to play my best tennis from the advantage court when we are playing against the top teams of the world.I will now be partnering Martina, who is one of the most experienced players on the circuit and is an advantage court specialist as well.Mirza reported this to Headlines Today.

Sania even managed to beat Martina once in singles (though it was in MH's second incarnation).

You hit that right on SK310, I am surprised their partnership lasted as long as it did, both can be very emotional, but Martina is only out for herself.

Bartoli considers come back, hope it's not true...let's be realist: she left because she was always injured, at the age of 30, it would be even worse . Please dear Bartoli, stay away from competition !!

Apparently Marion Bartoli asked whether she should make a comeback on Twitter,

Marion bartoli@bartoli_marion
Coming back or not coming back to #tennis? What do you think Should I

Jimmy Connors was one of the many people that answered her,

Jimmy Connors@bartolimarion@hfleconte only if you get fit-in shape and healthy. And commit yourself to getting back to the top.Sounds easy enough.

OH MAN! That's a harsh tweet for Jimmy to just say so bluntly! "Fit shape"

I mean I think it would be pretty idiotic for her to try to make a comeback. She was constantly injured and obviously in constant pain. I can't help but wonder if it's because she never changed her fitness regime. I know that's perhaps unfair considering there's plenty of healthy players that are bigger girls. Still...

I also thought it was rude as well, thank goodness he wont be offering his services as a coach, not after his last attempt with Sharapova which lasted one match........;)

Just a updated report from Matt Cronin,February 3rd regarding Mirza and Hingis.

Mirza is unsure whether she will continue with Hingis beyond March.Hingis has been playing with Pennetta, but while the Swiss and Italian played very well last year, they have struggles this year. They lost in the first round of their last two tournaments (Dubai and Doha).Pennetta has yet to decide with whom she will play with at Indian Wells or Miami. The 32 year old won the 2014 Indian Well singles title..Currently ranked No.16,Pennetta has yet to decide whether she will continue to play next year,or whether to retire.

To maintain such a high level in both doubles and singles in the torrid pace of the WTA, takes it's toll over the long season. Flavia is getting up there in tennis age, still young, but with no recovery time between doubles and singles it makes it extremely difficult to be competitive every week. I have asked this question to a few players and they all said recovery time is becoming more and more important to them.

Historic Week For Czech Republic....report from the WTA website,3rd March.

Not many players have won more matches in the last nine months than Babora Zahlavova Strycova-she's won 33 of them since the start of the grass season last June. And all of that winning has brought her a big reward on this week's WTA Rankings-her long-deserved career Top 20 debut.

And that's not all with Petra Kvitova,Lucie Safarova and WTA Rising Star Karolina Pliskova already in there, this is the 'first time four Czechs have ever been in the Top 20 at the same time'.

Kvitova is currently ranked No.4,Safarova No.11,Pliskova No.15 and Zahlavova No.20.

Top ranked women's tennis player Serena Williams will need a new hitting partner for the first time in eight years.Sascha Bajin will no longer serve in that position, according to a tweet from Bajin.Bajin was not with Williams during her run at the Australian Open in January,as he was reportedly 'away on injury reserve' with a back injury.Williams went on to capture her sixth Australian Open title and 19th Grand Slam title overall.Bajin's tweet indicates that he may begin working with former World No.1 Victoria Azarenka.Williams has called Bajin the 'most important person' on her team outside of her parents. In Australia,Williams ended up using former pro Jonathan Dasnieres de Veigy, who was a practice partner for Novak Djokovic, during the tournament.

Serena Williams@serenawilliams@bigsascha@vika7 don't have too much fun without me congrats Sascha.
