How long Roger is going to last in this tournament, one week?

The only certain answer is: "Longer than Rafa" :lolz:

Today's final round of qualifying is a total wash out. Not a single match got completed. Only 3 of the 16 matches even got started. All of them postponed to Friday.

Hope the qualifying tourney gets over before the main one starts. :laydownlaughing

Agreed. Any tournament without Federer fully fit is already well below par. Nadal is out too but hasn't done any damage at Wimbledon since 2011 so it's not such a glaring hole in the draw. Having the finalist of the last 2 years unable to move properly and losing to guys like Thiem and Zverev lately does not bode well. With a good draw Raonic may make the semis but I'm expecting another hideous Djokovic v Murray final here but actually think that one could be swayed more in Murray's favour on grass and with home crowd support. Nothing to do with Lendl who I think adds nothing except placebo to Murray but placebo can be good too. But who knows.

Sorry Front but Nadal out is a huge handicap for the tournament. I mean, how the hell can we have that much fun in the first week now?

Totally pathetic comment. But at the end we'll see who will have more "fun"

Just checked the extended weather forecast. The outlook looks good for the first week of the tourney. Everything should get done.

the more relevant questions are: will anyone notice it when he becomes the first man in the open era to win 30 consecutive slam matches? will Novak match Roger's record of three slams in three different calendar years 2 weeks from now? will Novak become the first man since Laver to have held the AO, FO and Wimbledon titles simultaneously? will Novak become the first man to win Wimbledon without dropping a set since Borg did 30 years ago?

They'll start watching other things and not even acknowledge Nole's achievements! The Fedal sycophants from here, the media, and tennis intelligencia can't seem to stand it and they prove how set in their ways they truly are and will continue to be! :cover :nono

Bear in mind that Djokovic's main rival, Federer, is a shell of himself this year so Djokovic winning Wimbledon just became even easier. And even making the final the last 2 years he played nowhere near well enough to win as he's old and far from his prime greatness. That said, I still favour Murray over Djokovic on grass and too much is being made of Djokovic's slam wins the last 2 years given how the competition frankly sucks. Federer played against prime Nadal at RG for years, something Djokovic did once in 2008 and he lost in straight sets. No one, Djokovic included, was winning 4+ slams in a row in the period Federer played with Nadal in his prime on clay. 2011 was a different story when they were all playing much better and not injured so I give Novak way more credit for that 2011 season.

Btw Nadal was playing better in 2012 and 2013 than he has for over 2 years now and, guess what, Djokovic won just (I say "just" relative to the supposed dominance of beating old fogies and Murray last few years) 1 slam in each of 2012 and 2013. He managed 3 slams in 2011 which was very impressive as the top guys were still very good then but doing it now doesn't take anywhere near as much effort as the competition has gone downhill fast and frankly, right now, there is none.

Front, you are spot on..but here's what bothers me. When Roger came along in 2004, the Sampras fans were crying foul that Sampras had to deal with a tougher generation in the 90s. We called their bs. So it seems a bit hypocritical to be doing the same when the shoe is on the other foot. We just have to accept how the games evolves and celebrate excellence...all excellence may not be magic.. but it is still excellence nevertheless.

Hey lob. I'm not disputing Djokovic is an excellent player, but what I'm saying is his most dominant period has come in the weakest era tennis has seen in a long, long time. He had his best year in 2011 when the top guys were not as old and not injured but yet he only manged to win 1 slam each of the next 2 years. He's cleaning up now 'cos the competition is old and years past their prime but he could only do it one single year (2011) when they were still all playing high level tennis. Now we have Nadal missing 2 slams, Federer missing RG and moving like crap and not likely to go far in Wimbledon. There's no one there to challenge him at all. Even when healthy Nadal hasn't beaten him since RG 2014. This isn't Djokovic's fault btw but the rabid fans claiming he's the 2nd coming of Jesus are a bit OTT to say the least and completely fail to see the reality of what little competition is out there.

:clap It's a no win situation; like anything, everything is viewed differently thru their own prisms! :p

Potential Quarter finals:

1. Djokovic vs Raonic
2. Federer vs Nishikori
3. Thiem vs Wawrinka
4. Gasquet vs Murray

I couldn't make out the halves though.

Top half is definitely the tougher on paper, but I would give you odds against for 6 of those 8 to make it, heck I'd maybe even give evens for 5 of those 8

:lolz::laydownlaughing Are you really that blind?

He just pointed out that the Sampras fans used the "weak era" crap against Fed and that it was hypocritical for Fed fans to do the same. Then you go and do the same!

Then you make the absurd statement that some fans think Djokovic is the 2nd coming of Jesus, when just about every Fed fan has "Roger Federer as Religious Experience" located somewhere on their computer, possibly even on the wall of their office.

C'mon man!!! :snicker

Looks like Kyrgios-Murray 4R? :(

Edit: Roger's draw looks good before the semis.
