Just so a few people begin to appreciate the type of dark arts in play over geopolitical issues, this is essential reading.

It's was declassified 30 years after the Cuban crisis. It's a US state document (on various US educational archives, encyclopedias, appeared in books etc...) and shows the pretexts that governments can use to further a cause.

This was a document produced by the Pentagon Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1962.

Some of the things that stand out for me:

In section 2 - it identifies a list of provocation steps including creating civil unrest in Cuba.

Section 3 is the real eye opener:

1) We could blow up a US ship in Guatanamo Bay and blame Cuba.

4) We could develop a Communist Cuba terror campaign in the Miami and other Florida cities.
We could sink a boatload of cubans seeking refuge and blame Havana.

8 and 9) Create an incident where a commerical airliner is shot down.

The Pentagon and the military approved the plan but Kennedy rejected it.

By the way, through Freedom of Information Act, you can reach many more documents like this that are unclassified now.

There are many more classified documents that are now open to public and are really shocking to most people who were not part of any wars or confrontations or didn't bother to research a bit more but agreed with everything Western media were feeding them. I felt the major double standards in Western policies on my own skin, so I am always skeptical about their news.

Exactly. This is a case where intervention is the least worst option, and let's hope it's not too late...

It was too late, and the sad thing is there weren't more nations stepping up early on (including my nation). The world could see that this is like Nazism, like the genocidal tendencies of the Ottomans a century ago against the people of Armenia. It is savagery and it cannot be reasoned with, ever. It must be destroyed and a unified front is necessary. Where are the Arab nations? Where is Putin? Where are the rest?

They kept him for so long and then made an example out of him. I can't watch it, I can hardly read stuff like that, makes my whole body sick. Apparently the executioner had a British accent? And another journalist is being captured and may face the same fate?

There are so many terrible things going on in the world right now. I've been thinking of the poor people in Ukraine who are being killed or have to leave their homes.

Wow! Things are really heating up in so many places. Russian paratroopers purportedly caught within Ukraine--there by mistake the Kremlin says. ISIL captures an air base in Syria while it continues to get bombed by USA and perhaps others. Obama authorizes fly-overs over Syrian airspace with no consent from Syria to combat ISIL, while Egyptain clerics and Islamic groups blast ISIL as not being an Islamic caliphate--all the while joining in bombing Islamic groups in Liby (together with UAE) without informing the Obama Administration! Then, here in the USA, we now learn that the public has been lied to by the Obama Administration and the IRS about allegedly missing or lost emails from the IRS Commissioner (who refused to testify to Congress about the emails concerning IRS targeting of anti-Obama/conservative groups claiming non-profit tax status). It turns out (according to the Department of Justice) it is well known a back up of all emails is kept in case of a catastrophe--something the public has been saying for almost a year now in response to the preposterous claim that such emails could be lost forever. Then again, returning to international affairs, China is saber-rattling about US intervention over there or the perceived threat of same. Finally, Hamas and Israel are still dancing a dangerous dance in Palestine, with Iran continuing to pipe in about what they intend to do. It has been a messy year.


P.S. It appears as though a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has been reached (also has been called a total truce). There is talk of building a port in Gaza and release of prisoners. As to Syria, I am hearing the USA is keeping the Assad government informed of what pilots see of ISIL via Russian and other channels. Let us hope the Palestinian peace remains intact this time.
