The US still leads the world in daily new case COVID infections, close to 43000 in a day.

At this rate we will be banned from traveling anywhere overseas for a long time Even Canada (Yes, Canada!!) won't let us go there.

He's a member of Forza Italia, Berlusconi's party (center-right, btw.) He's been shouting the same stuff as Trump, Bolsonaro, et al, since the beginning: it's a little flu, go ahead and go out, etc., but he's a fairly lone wolf on this.

Cuomo and De Blasio said the same things in early March. Pelosi said the same thing in early February. This position of "it's okay to go out" has been correct 98% of the time. Ironically, the only place where it may have not been advisable was in NYC, where of course the incompetent Democratic leaders encouraged people to go out. A brief lockdown in New York City while leaving 95% of the rest of the country functioning normally would have been sufficient to combat this very weak and overhyped virus.

So the Sgarbi-Trump position was almost entirely correct.

IMO it's a matter of time before his namerican counterpart idiot-in-chief follows him. Given their age, I would not be surprised if their cases evolved serious like Boris case or more, including premature death. But I don't wish it to them, even if objectively, the world would benefit from such outcome.
Usually a personal highly emotional, "near death" experience changes most people somehow. Would idiots-in-chief be subject of any positive change of mind i.e. a change of their attitude towards covid19 in this case? I doubt because even a serious shock therapy is unlikely to break their stupidity.

An investigation is taking place in the UK on the over-reporting of cases. I said a while ago that the US and UK were probably over-reporting and globally, there is probably under-reporting... For instance, reports from Iran indicate that the reported deaths might be a third of the real number. I suspect Russia and China are both under-reporting significantly.

If the UK is reporting COVID deaths that includes anybody that has had COVID ever, then that's clearly going to cause a major discrepancy.

On the other issue "DIED FROM COVID" or "DIED WITH COVID" - the UK has always reported infectious diseases on death certificates. It's not something new, so no conspiracy from that angle. Clearly, if proven, the former charge, "EVER HAD COVID" raises a lot of issues if true.

One thing I was looking at early on was the net monthly deaths against a historical trend. The UK bumped up significantly early on in the pandemic. That tells you COVID is very real. However, that monthly net death rate is below average right now. That indicates that COVID is claiming lives a few months earlier than you'd otherwise expect (i.e. statistically many people who were on a pathway to death), rather than being some sort of modern-day bubonic plague. There are plenty of random outliers though too.
