I wonder if Melania will stay with him. If she does, will Republicans criticise her like they did Hillary?

Is it just me or is the pace of turnover at the White House accelerating. Tillerson fired today (although the rumour is that it was done on Friday), when he has been an integral part of the administrations North Korea strategy. This is just absolutely incredible. CIA director to replace him, and the deputy director of the CIA has been selected to replace Pompeo. You couldn't make this up

Lol! Also the President's personal aide has was also fired (something to do with his background check) and had to be escorted out of the compound.

Re: Tillerson it's worth pointing out that he's quite possibly the worst Secretary of State in living memory. He has decimated the diplomatic core, eliminating a generation of deep knowledge that is crucial for US understanding of foreign states. With fewer and fewer people of substance in the Administration with the stature to counter-balance Trump I shudder at what an unleashed David Dennison can get up to

well the Deputy Director is a Deep-Stater for sure. But apparently she was heavily involved with renditions and torture, so her confirmation will be tricky. Pompeo as Secretary of State will be scary, the guy is hard core, and heavily partisan. But that's not to say Tillerson wasn't a shockingly bad appointment

Tillerson might have been a buffoon but at the very least, he wasn't a "Yes-man"... More fun and games on the white house merry-go-round.

yes that's the only good thing that can be said about him though. Decimating the ranks of the diplomatic core will have a lasting negative impact on US foreign relations

Rather far from it...he's the guy that called Trump a "moron," and didn't retract it when asked. Sort of surprising it took Trump this long to fire him.

Yes, and we have no Ambassador in So. Korea, with Trump talking about meeting with Kim Jong-un. He will be woefully unprepared, though I can't imagine that that would be a surprise, anyway. Tillerson was in Africa on an apology mission after the Trump comments about "shit-hole countries." Probably of his own volition, because Trump doesn't apologize. But now they see him fired as soon as he gets back.

You know the reason. Actually, Tillerson mentioned it. :lol3::lulz1::lol6:

There are so many fronts that could ruin this Administration but all of a sudden the pace and intensity seems to be rising. There's collusion, obstruction, porn stars, campaign finance, money laundering and now this new Cambridge Analytica angle. And if you don't think that's serious Facebook just got $37bn wiped off. This is for real. And listening to the whistle blower it's apparent that this started even before Trump had formerly announced he was entering the race. This is absolutely stunning. If Mueller wasn't already all over this he soon will be. If Facebook is the same in 2 years I'll be shocked. And the same applies to Big Tech in general. They'll no longer be able to fob off critics. They have clearly been either negligent or criminally stupid

Cambridge Analytica is nothing new... the Conservatives also used them in their pretty lame campaign at the last UK election.

you're missing the point. The news that Cambridge Analytica got the personal data of US voters and that they were also doing work for Russians is new news.

No, it's not really... it's about 3 years old... at least the Russian bit... with the oil companies.
lol! You're trying to tell me that was public knowledge 3 years ago? Basically as it was happening? O....k....

CNN couldn't have given a fuck about it 3 years ago brother.

There was a lot of stuff floating around about Cambridge Analytica for years. The Tories hired them before the last election.

Not sure why you're bringing up CNN or the UK elections. But I repeat my question since you haven't answered it...

You're trying to tell me that Cambridge Analytica providing US electorate info to Lukoil was public knowledge 3 years ago? Basically live... That's what you're saying? :)

It won't have been "public knowledge' because it wasn't reported by the mainstream media. Now the story has legs in the "join the dots, get Trump out of here" debate then it will be reported wholeheartedly...
