This is why I'm willing to hold. But I still think that old school metrics are not necessarily useful now. Biden and his success rate deserves a 2nd term, but that is not the perception. How to salvage it?
Biden just has to continue to "prosecute " Trump on his numerous lies and convictions during the next four months. Biden gets too frustrated with Trump during the debates which is the rabbit hole that Trump is constantly digging for him. Its very similar to debating against a child. A misguided child ONLY has lies and will most likely play the "victims" role. Biden's record and policies are pretty solid to date and should be able to stand on their own.

IDK why they agreed to ANY debates! The whole world knew what it would turn into! There was nothing above Int'l embarrassment to be had!
Its to give the so called uninformed voters the opportunity to hear the two candidates political views. Yes, its overkill for most of Us but it IS what it IS

^ Yes, ya'll--these things have become caricatures of what they were, and so have the news organizations which cover them. Just go back and look at the debate of Carter-Reagan, or Bush-Dukakis or even as recent as Obama-Romney. It is like another universe.

I doubt it. Trump doesn't even debate. At least Biden said substantive things last Thursday, even if he wasn't at the top of his game. Trump just spewed the same old lies, has no policies, no vision for American other than the dystopian one he likes to sell.

I can't tell you how disgusted & disappointed I've been w/ the Supreme Court as it slides down an evolutionary scale! I lost a lot of trust in them when they unanimously (9-0) determined it wouldn't disrupt the country to have the president sued by some scank 304 the Republican party was backing to undermine Clinton! That happened almost 30 years ago & it's gotten worse as "W" & Trump have filled the SC w/ liars, reprobates, Neanderthals, hypocrites, & fraud-sters! During many of their confirmations, they repeatedly lied; one saying while in college he never discussed Roe v Wade! IDK how you make it thru law school unless someone was allowed to skate thru w/o going to class avoiding the case! I doubt that happened so we have Justices who're as sociopathic in their lying as Trump! They are slowly beginning to run the Fed as the gutless Congress won't pass many pieces of needed legis., forcing the Supreme Court to decide what s/b decided by the people's representatives! It's what they've been saying about the decision behind Roe v Wade, but of course it doesn't serve their interest to see their hypocrisy on "the right!" :face-with-head-bandage: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:

I think this has got to be the ultimate battle cry by the Democrats to use to get the Anti Trump propaganda campaign ignited ..If they don't, ladies and gentlemen, we will get a dictator!

I dont think its gonna be fun. Just look at how many people died from Covid in the US alone because of that idiot vanished the NSC.. (National Security Council). I know a lot of folks here in the US that wished they had their love ones around. Trump destroyed the opportunity to get out in front of the Pandemic.

Gavin Newsome is too California for the centrists. Gretchen Whitmer is at least Michigan. Neither is tested on the national stage. (Yes, shame on Democrats for not figuring out a successor sooner!) However, if they shit-can the unpopular Kamala Harris, it looks bad in a lot of ways. They should have done that before. (For the record, I think she gets a bad rap, but it doesn't matter, at this point.) It would take a lot of catching up for the Dems to come up with a new candidate by the convention. Biden would have to step back, with a REALLY good speech, and endorse one person, IMO. It can't be a fight at the convention. But, as we have argued here, if either party put up someone other than Biden and Trump, they could win. But that was in the past. I'm not sure if the Dems, looking like they are desperate, can change course, plausibly, now. It's going to take a lot of cleaver politics, and so far, the Democrats don't seem to be up to the task.
Maybe Kamala is getting more popular. Now a new polls suggest that Kamala gets bigger numbers that Biden vs Trump if things change. Interesting but it just a small sample size.

If that was the case, people wouldn't be concerned about Biden being so fk'n old & ready to "kick the bucket!" Unfortunately Kamala gave me pause a few times w/ interviews that didn't go well! She'd laugh hysterically periodically & I just wasn't impressed by her answers! She did much better before running for president, justifying her hawkishness for the law prosecuting thugs back in California! For some reason she was being criticized for putting blacks in jail! That's stupid! If these hoods refuse to act right b/c their stupid, single mothers allowed them to run wild, jail & prison's a perfect place for them along w/ the psychos & relatively evil SOB's! :face-with-head-bandage: :astonished-face: :fearful-face:  :angry-face:

Is this the level of how much you care about the future of our country? A popcorn watch? I know you're better than that. I'm frankly incensed that the media is calling for Biden to drop out, when the inadequate candidate in the race is Trump. Liar, felon. The Philadelphia Inquirer got it right:

WHAT???? That is rich--and I get the humor. Biden and the crime bill have dogged him for years (wrongly), and it is used against him politically. Harris definitely put away a lot of folks and gloated about it. I don't really have a problem with that either (the locking up those who hurt others and damage their communities with impunity).

They are calling for him to drop out because it is the right thing to do. He is not capable and his party doesn't want Harris either. It is the anything-but-Trump deal and they believe anyone but Biden has a good shot at winning and that is all they care about. I have NEVER bought into the hyperbolic malarkey about Trump being a dictator, we would end up in a war because of his ineptitude, that he was a Russian agent, his economic policies would only aid the rich and not the rest of the country, blah-blah-blah.

Is he an idiot? Does he needlessly attack people like a petulant child? Is he a likeable person or even a man of great character? I have no qualms that the answers are yes, yes and no. So what? His policies did continue economic expansion, we need become more economically independent from Russia and European energy producers under his policies and the stock market enriched not only the rich, but many millions in the middle class and lower classes--oh, and unemployment went to the lowest numbers in decades and including the black and brown citizenry. Oh, and no wars (at least new ones). Interest rates were down, inflation was down and the remain in Mexico policy was a success. We did not have the INSANITY Biden's policies directly produced--he incentivized the human people movers to crank it up to the tune of ten times what was happening under 45.

Y'all recall that even BEFORE he was in office there was talk of impeachment by the Democrats? Recall how they wanted Pence and others to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him early on? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller? He has been attacked from day one and before like no president I have ever seen, and I am fine with saying he earned some of it by being a nasty guy at times. But impeachable offenses? Only now do we see the 25th Amendment being floated begrudgingly by Democrats as to Biden and for good reason--there is real trouble here for which the amendment was enacted--garbage floating it as to Trump years ago.

I harken back to the insanity I heard when Jimmy Carter lost the election to Ronald Reagan. They were passing out cyanide pills to youth groups at Brown University so that peoplecould commit suicide after Reagan came to power because they were convinced nuclear war was coming or whatever. His policies were going to need to worsening in the economy and they did and the short term, as planned, but then he started the longest post-war economic expansion up until that time starting in 1982 and continuing right to the end of the decade into the 1990s after which he even took off more with the Internet explosion that happened right as William Jefferson Clinton came to power. The world didn't end under Reagan and it is not going to end under another four years of Donald Trump. This hyperbolic madness is unnecessary and not helpful. If Trump wins he will be president and he is not going to order the assassination of a bunch of people who opposed him like some dictator.

So, let us not get too emotionally entwined is my thought. Hence the popcorn reference. Obviously, a large amount of people don't think that Trump winning is the end of the world. We are a helluva lot closer now to real problems around the world under the current administration. Just look at what is happening with Xi and North Korea as well as Putin. Then we have Hamas and Israel, which is now stirring more trouble than in many years with Hezbollah. Iran--Lord have mercy and then their little annoying Houthis too. Not a single one of those was going on under the prior administration. Why has all this happened in the last two years? These are serious issues.

My reference to sitting back and watching and popcorn was to the hysteria of the talking heads in this nation about Trump and Biden, not about the real world issues, Moxie--which I think you actually knew. Carry on and God Bless America!

Well said. Few people seem to have a personal ideology nowadays mate. Reduced to tribal sycophants. What was the Saul Alinsky mantra - accuse your opponents of things you do yourself? The hypocrisy is astounding.
