As for the masks, Fauci said in both March and May that wearing masks did not do anything. So did the WHO in March, and then implicitly in May. It is nothing more than virtue-signaling and superstition for the dumb left-wing masses. And in many cases it increases the likelihood of infection. It is completely dumb.

I hope our fears are wrong, but we'll find out in the weeks to come.

That's where he starts his praise for the accomplishments of his administration, so far. 3+ years in. Appointing a lot of judges. That tells you something. Then to the military, then VA choice. Fine.

Still, pretty rambling, and lots of digs at Fake News and divisive comments.

* When he finally gets to COVID-19, it's "Chinese Virus" and "Kung Flu." Also a kid gets "sniffles". He also says "Virus/Flu, call it what you want."

He gets to the recent unrest and talks about people "vandalizing our history." "Desecration of monuments." And what he called it a "cruel campaign of censorship and exclusion." (By this, he doesn't mean against black people, fyi.)

He gets to "law and order" and defunding the police. So he asks "what if" a woman is home alone, if her husband is a traveling salesman. (Seriously, that was his example. What is this...1958?) It sort of peters out, but Karen can see where that one was going. He finished this section off with "save our beautiful heritage." And "you're so lucky that I'm President, that's all I can tell you." (Inciting chants of "USA! USA!")

Then he decides to talk about his speech at West Point. It's mostly a litany of complaints about how hot it was, how long it was, and excusing the fact that he didn't come off great:

* I had to give "600 salutes."

* "The sun was pouring down"

* "I was on that stage for hours."

* "I had a sunburn."

* "I left early in the morning to get there."

* "The stage was higher than this one, and the ramp was longer."

* "I had leather bottomed shoes."

* "I'm being baked like a cake."

* The steel ramp was "like an ice skating rink."

* "I looked very handsome."

* It was an "expensive tie and I didn't want to get water on it." (He mentioned that it was silk, and it stains, and that's why he was so careful holding his water glass...with both hands.)

I won't say that he didn't say anything nice about West Point (he mentioned that it was very beautiful, well-situated there on the Hudson,) or about the cadets...I'm sure must have said something about them, though, if so, it was in passing and not memorable. But he spent a lot of time complaining about what a workout it was to salute 600 times. He mentioned it more than once. (Another reason that his arms were so weak when he was trying to drink the water...he actually said that.) After about 20 minutes of him making excuses for his performance at West Point, I had to quit. If anyone else is valiant enough to listen to the rest, I'd be happy to hear the review. Even Trump himself was only giving himself a medium grade on the speech,, right in the middle of it, in terms of his best. So if more people are going now to hospitals for non-Covid-related reasons but all hospitals are testing all patients, it is no surprise that there is an uptick in "cases." It's not because the virus is roaring back with a vengeance. It's simply because more people are being tested.
