Bloomberg just dropped out, and will back Biden.
It was the only decision a rational thinker could make, so not surprised at all.

Over to Tulsi and Warren to see if rationality is a part of their make up!

Last night I heard commentators saying Warren plans to stay in all the way to the convention. I doubt she will do that, but you never know. She’s going to get a lot of pressure from Sanders and his supporters to drop out.

It's not clear to me that Warren supporters transfer to Sanders. I think a lot of the women will go to Biden, as this whole Bernie bros thing is very off putting.

Also her educated demographic doesn't really match Bernies, so I wouldn't be shocked if more than expected bleed off to Biden

I heard an interesting thought shortly ago...that Warren will stay in through the next debate, to take her chances with just the other 2 to debate, since she recently had a good debate. Now, I did want to ask you why you think that Tulsi was never in it to win?

I think it splits off partly by age, too. Younger women and serious progressives might go from Warren to Bernie, but older voters of all demographics shift towards Biden.

some of the stuff she's said through out her campaign. It's one thing to be anti-establishment, but a few times it's almost like she's been anti- Democratic party. I fully sympathise with her desire not to be anywhere near CNN or MSNBC though. Those journalists there can't move on from Syria, and it got old and boring really quickly. I didn't realise that she wasn't the only legislator who made that trip until a few months back. The way they go on it's like she defected. So I sympathise with her, but she confuses me. And her still sticking at it, at this stage makes no sense whatsoever

Except for the fact that many don't actually think she's much of a Democrat, I don't know anything in the above that would say she wasn't serious in her run. I guess she's about out of money and momentum, but I spend a lot of time in NH, and she was the first presence there, and had a big one.

Time to talk about VP selection. Who do you think Biden will / should pick? Same for Bernie. Would it be one of the other 27 candidates or from someone outside that pool.

Interestingly someone predicted that, DJT will dump MP and go for Nicki in the next one.

I heard someone mention Kamala Harris last night, but that could be a rumor. I hope he picks Abrams. That would be a much wiser choice, IMO.

I wonder if Biden would run it by Obama before making an announcement? Or if Obama has already told him who he thinks Biden should pick?

I wonder if he can legally pick Obama :)

I don't believe he can. I forget the number for the amendment. Something like the 23rd or 24th?
Interesting article here. A part of it:

"Michael Dorf is a professor of constitutional law at Cornell University. In 2000, he argued that an Al Gore-Bill Clinton ticket could withstand legal scrutiny. And when we spoke by phone on Thursday, he said that he stood by that argument.
The rough outline of his argument is this: The 22nd Amendment doesn't say you can't be president for more than two terms. It says you can't be elected president twice. If a Biden-Obama ticket won (which we'll get to), and tragedy were to befall Joe Biden, Barack Obama could become president, according to the letter of the law (which we'll also get to), since he wasn't elected to the position. As such, Obama is not constitutionally ineligible to serve as president."

Well, we can take the example of LBJ: he became President after Kennedy was killed. He was elected President in 1964. He could have (but chose not to) run for President in 1968.

I strongly disagree with your choice. Biden is already doing well in south and also has a large support from African Americans. So, Stacey does not add any value to the ticket, which he otherwise won't have.

If the nominee is either Bernie or Joe, they're both pretty old and should consider the VP pick very carefully, as each is likely to be a one-term president, if elected.

The reason the turnout was so high was more antiTrump and fears of Bernie too far left philosophies not that Joe has become Obama 2.0. Biden "may" need to pick a candidate that can attract White women, and non educated Reps who are dissatisfied with Trump. Both demographics tend to be at times fickle voters. Kamala Harris would be a better VP than Abrams at this point but one day Abrams time may come. IMO. It was the young voters and white females who put Obama in the White House. Biden needs to promise Bernie something in the cabinet if it comes down to him being the Democratic party nominee. Bernie is a good man who should have been the Democratic candidate vs Trump in 2016. I spoke to a lot of women especially white females, they didn't like or want Hilary to be the first woman President. Most Democrats hope Hilary stays away from Biden because Trump will use "crooked Hilary" against him. Hell, he is already blaming the Obama administration for slowing down diagnosic testing...blah blah blah..
Trump supporters still believe that he has turned around the economy which shows they "may" not have studied Milton Friedman's principles whom my college professor idolized.
