If you had asked him six months or so ago, I don’t think Obama would have picked Biden, otherwise he would have endorsed him when Biden announced he was running again. I simply think Obama is trying to make the best of the current situation.
Obama will provide his endorsement when there is only one Democratic candidate and then he will try to unite the party IMO

Yeah well if Biden is the best out of the current situation then the democrats are screwed.
What's the alternative though Sanders? It wouldn't surprise me at all if both Obama and Pelosi calculate that winning the House and Senate is more important than the Presidency. I would agree with them! Having a President Sanders but losing both houses is a worse outcome than having a second Trump term but carrying both houses

That's what Obama himself says, despite the NYT reporting that the likes of Pelosi and Schumer encouraging him to get involved now. I'm not sure what "open-secret" there is. However, that active Democratic party leaders are involved doesn't shock me, or dismay me. They should be. And I want Obama to campaign for the nominee.

The US could survive loosing both houses, we have before.. however we cannot endure anymore of Trump..Trump actions affect the world..the US house and Senate affects on the world isn't as dire.

I'm not so sure you know. There's not much that Trump can do with just executive orders. Bear in mind also that if he steps out of line again, he isn't running again, so don't count on the loyalty of GOP senators and congressmen in the same way as they hold to him now. Meanwhile you get to control judges and legislation generally. I don't even believe that Trump can unilaterally get out of NATO, I suspect that is part of American law so it would need the buy in of both houses

I understand you point especially when you think about the "down stream elections but Trump's influence over present legislation is based on Fear of Trump and greed of money.. Trump's influence is enormous..

There's a massive difference when the President is a lame duck

Dems fear Bernie more than the Republicans do and that is hilarious. I have nothing in common with Bernie but I still feel a bit sad for him. He has been trying hard for so long.
He has always stuck by his principals. You have to respect him. I'm not clear that the Dems fear him more than Republicans do...they only fear that the Republicans won't turn against Trump for him. That may have been true in 2016, but probably not the case in 2020.

Maybe it’s me but there is no way this Super Tuesday isn’t a crushing defeat for Sanders and huge win for Biden. Biden won some states he virtually spent zero money on and had no campaign presence.

How the hell did Joe Biden (apparently) win Texas?

I totally agree! Also I don't see how Warren can stay in this after losing her own State

Warren and Mike will quit in a day or two.

After that, it will be three person race between Biden, Bernie and Tulsi. (who will never quit). :lol6:

Gabbard is a disgrace. Not sure what she's doing at all. I liked the cut of her gib at the start but it became obvious that she wasn't actually running to win. I've no time for that sort of candidate

It's also time to ask the question whether Bernie did so well last time partly as an anti- Clinton candidate. He's losing States he won last time. If that's the case it's worth remembering that there's another candidate who also benefited from that last time ;)

Also note that where the turnout exceeded 2016, it's Biden who's winning. That's in direct conflict with Bernie's expanding the vote BS...

Bloomberg and Steyer have now demonstrated that you can’t buy a presidential election, despite all of the talk that this could be done. Ironically, the person who has won the most, is the person who has had the least amount of money.

Bloomberg dumped half a billion dollars, and will likely drop out today. On the bright side, he’ll always have American Samoa.
