After that win,

History for Serena Williams.....The most Singles victories in US Open history.102.!

Serena previously held that record with Chrissie Evert.

They told Chrissie on air here in the US. She said she was happy for Serena, and actually seemed to mean it.

Sorry to see Venus go, but Muchova (who I'd never heard of) played really well.

When this weird pandemic is over, I wonder if Venus will make her good-bye tour.

On the other hand, Clijsters, on her comeback visit, is up a break. #3kids

^ I think Venus will retire on her own terms, whenever that will be :)

Maybe if the Olympic's are on next year, she may think of retiring.I noticed in her match she has been tweeking her serve,so that is a sign she is still willing to make changes at 40 years young.

It's all going Alexandrova's way, now. I guess I'm not shocked. Good show by Clijsters, but it's hard to catch back up.

Alexandrova played strong tennis in the final set,too good for Clijsters, both ladies loved smashing the ball,Clijsters started well,I think tough match play caught up with her in the end.

2 matches that stand out for me tomorrow are,

N.Osaka (4) vs C.Giorgi they have met once before with Osaka winning, though beware Giorgi can be a tricky, tough opponent if she is on her game.

Ka.Pliskova (1) vs C.Garcia their H2H is 3 all,Garcia when 'on' is such a delight to watch, she has the weapons, though sad to say she has never really been a consistent player or I feel has reached her true potential.

I will have to watch some of the ladies matches on replay as I start work early tomorrow.

Goodness me Kiki Mladenovic (30),what a Melt Down!

Making her GS debut Vavara Gracheva (103) came back from 61,51 saving 4 MPS to defeat Kiki 16 76(2) 60......take a bow!

Another seed bites the dust,

Aliaksandra Sasnovich d (12) Marketa Vondrousova with ease 61 62

Caroline Garcia leads Ka Pliskova (1) 5-0

Pliskova has hit just 1 winner so far in this match.....Help Me

I still think these courts are too fast for her,she needs time to set up her ground strokes, still her serve should be winning her easy points

Off to work check these scores later

Garcia took the first set vs Pliskova 6-1. Ann Li took the first set vs. Riske 6-0.

The Azarenka vs. Sabalenka match tomorrow (rematch of last year's 1R) looks good.

Don’t make excuses for Pliskobot. This is all mental for her. She is the #1 seed and can’t handle it
