At least I don't have to check up on the WTA draw anymore. With Kasatkina out and having her all the way to the SF's and Amanda winning the whole thing that ends that.
Oh well there is always other draws to play, it is fun that is the main thing

She has to make sure her serve saves intact, and her fhand wing dosent break down that much, it has a tendency to do
Yes it does. I hope she can pull it off now that Amanda is out.

Does anyone know why the Emma match is being delayed?

Oops it is just being introduced now.

Forgot to mention today Andrea Petkovic has retired sad to say this was her last tournament at the USO,she lost her match to Bencic,, she reached a career high of No 9, came back on the tour from numerous injuries in her career.
I think we all remember the Petko Dance?
I wish her all the best in her retirement!

I hope so. They are both still young and could play a lot of matches together in the future. I think that could be some really exciting and fun matches.
I think Leyla is very steady and will win GS in the future. Her best surface is hardcourts ..

Emma has lost the 1st set to Alize Cornet. Last year at the US Open she didn't lose a set the entire tournament.

Can't compare the two years. This year is a completely different tourney. She had no expectation as a qualifier. No one knew her game. This year, players are ready and someone will hunt her down.

I just tuned in and see they closed the roof while Alize was serving. It completely disrupted her and she got broken. Anybody know why they closed the roof?

Just got home, from what I heard earlier the officials said they were expecting rain?

expecting it and it actually happening are 2 different things. It can't be raining because play is still happening on the outer courts.

Meanwhile, Vika drops the 2nd set after leading 4-1. We're going to a decider

I realize that now, that is all I know, before I left for my appointment, maybe they did that as a precaution who knows.

I understand that and they were actually saying that most people were saying that Cornet would be the slight favorite in this match. I was pretty much just saying that because she went through the entire tournament last year without losing a set which no matter when that is(her first tournament or her last ever tournament) is an incredible thing to do.

I think Emma's in trouble. She got the break and the momentum when they closed the roof and Cornet was rattled. But her lead has evaporated and Alize is coming after her now w/ her all-court game

I did not have a good feeling about this match when the draw came out....when Cornet gets on a roll in her game she can be hard to stop
