I don't think he will finish this match. Might be a groin injury. What else can't be examined in the stadium?

it looks so over.

PAT MCENROE speculates: kyrgios isn't sufficiently training and prepared - physically and mentally for the rigors and relies only his obvious talent.

john mc - WONDERS if the injury prevents him from doing the physical preparations needed.

either way - what a WASTE - at least in this match. talent like that ....just too bad...

same here. u think he can continue? the way it looks its probably towels for him after a few more games if nothing improves...
If he feels so bad he should retire because anyway he can't win in that conditions and could get worse and worse about whatever he has

Sadly Nick retires at 1:2 in the match.

The biggest success of 28year old Marchenko and he is subdued, naturally.

CONGRATS TO ILYA MARCHENKO -- either way . not the way he would have liked to win this - because he also played well and was quite firm in his own fighting. he deserves his place in the ROUND OF 16. !! AND THAT SHIRT looks good on him.

GO ILYA!!! i'm gonna root for HIM anyway!

it's not HIS fault if NICK just wans't up to the physical demand today. he did HIS job to stay in the match - be competitive and earn his win.

and it' s ALWAYS nice to see others ''far back in the rankings" that worked so hard to have their day -- and go forward. so I want him to go further!

If he feels so bad he should retire because anyway he can't win in that conditions and could get worse and worse about whatever he has

and hopefully -- IF patrick mcenroe is correct in his supposition that NICK'S blase attitude about tennis is cause of his ''not training enough to be physically stronger and prepared for the rigors" -- then NICK BETTER GO HOME AND THINK ABOUT everything...

either he does what is required as ALL others with so much LESSER talent than he -- that are kicking themselves to work, work work and BE BETTER than they are blessed with.

JOHN MCENROE just said:
\
"he better think hard...if he doesn't want it -- then get out - there are others who want it so badly.. ".

and THA Tis correct, i agree. talent, kaboodles of it is great -- but that's just the start. it comes with RESPONSIBILITY to use it properly to the best of one's ability - and if even with it - one DOESN'T want to use it that way -- then go and find another way to use that talent in another field.

it is unfair to others with less talent who are working so hard just to get a piece of that kind of talent's ability to be where they hope to be.

an example is marchenk0p - he might not have had the talent --but he prepared himself for today - took everything seriously despite his being only recently breaking into the top 100...and SO HE DESERVED TO WIN and the SUPPORT of the crowd during his PRIDE in winning or saying "a win is a win".

Against Wawrinka you mean, or from now on whenever he plays?

i don't like wawrinka. so that's the first reason.

the second -- against anyone IF marchenkp can prove himself .

i'm like that -- even against MY top favorites --i'll be able to root against an underdog once i feel ''this guy needs a break and have HIS day in the sun even just once".

i don't know - but that's how i am. i just like the ''wealth spread" more. hehe. i just like to see more of them with big, big smiles on their faces that they made it ''once" also. u know?

I ALWAYS keep in mind -- i have been ''so successful' in my own way of PICKING my top favorites -- like rafa, nole, etc...and before them sampras, steffi...etc...and serena ...etc...

that as a FAN i can ''afford" to see even THESE -- big favorites of mine -- to lose to an UNKNOWN. but i only want it if it means the unknown can have a really nice day for the rest of his career. something that will make that unknown a real ''star" in his own way.
and MY b ig favorites -- i remind myself "they are already GAZILLIONAIRES...and really competing against themselves and their own records and history....

so far ABOVE the ''little names". THEY can afford a few hundred thosuand dollars LOSS in a bet...of tennis match -- or a loss of another ROUTINE TITLE of majors etc...

but the little names - IF they can prove themselves for a few matches -- could really USE just a little fraction of what is so ORDINARY to the big names...the little names also have families , u know...
tha'ts how i always did it as a fan of tennis and my own favorites.
something like that is ALWAYS playing in the back of my mind when i watch tennis. lol..

i can't help it - i'm sentimental that way.

I am backing here the MacEnroe bros. How do you think Nick can be fit and prepared when e has no coach and no fitness trainer? Hello?
The guy is not serious about this sport and he wastes his talent and time.
He will be never a top player in the real sense , like a top 5 or so with this attitude.
But I am sure we will never find out, because I am almost sure he will quit entirely the sport soon.
He looks like he does not want to be there Period.
