Evans gets one break back. I'm just now tuning in. What happened with the trainer not seeing Evans for a rolled ankle when they did one for Stan?

this is the first for me to see that an ATP trainer refused to treat a player who called for him. He said it was cramps (which I am starting to believe now) but still. The guy is playing his heart out and was down 2 breaks so a bit of help couldn't hurt that much.

Looks like another love fest between Stan and Nick is in the making.

it's just our own human frailty maybe. at least for me -- it's probably just me - and i have my own ''moods" towards players ...but heck - we can have our likes and dislikes - and being self-indulging --
and that just happens to be my set of indulgence not liking these two i named...

i mean -- i DIDN'T like HINGIS at all because of how presumptuous she was about having replaced MY steffi and talking smack abotu steffi in her absence or was struggling in her comeback from her knee that was almost career- ending -- and definitely probably career- shortening anywayWHEN Stefanie got sick and tired of all the 'slavery to training and it's not fun anymore" (as she said at that time)

BUT i was always in awe of HINGIS' talent -- and i am NOT with radwa's.

hingis had TONS - KABOODLES of attitude yes -- even very insulting to me steffi -- BUT hingis DID back it up with her performances and during a time when HER style -- extraordinary as HER TALENT was WAS not A VERY RARE thing at all...TOUCH was STILL very much as much as the order of the day as opposed to the more ''bang, bang style" from the baseline today - even from the weaker players -- so

HINGIS - in her TALENT did HAVE to shine among players who HAD plenty of variety -- not least steffi herself , or davenport, or novotna...etc..that are in very short quantity nowadays where RADWA'S sheer LACK OF POWER (WHICH hingis had MORE of, in reality) --

MAKES her artificially stand out like she's some kind of genius when in fact she is NOT --just a pusher who puts in the ''original style" of her UGLY looking squash shot -- and is a ''mystery" to most player sTODAY who simply are NOT familiar or trained in how to deal with ''no power" shots , no pace shots

that was SO much a PART of the variety that characterised the graf era IN WHICH HINGIS stepped in and proved HERSELF ALONG with a healthy measure of HER own power (except that serena and venus SIMPLY were far, far too much for her to handle inthe end and HAD their OWN bag of touch tennis) .

so -- i have this distaste for radwanska -- maybe because of this HYPE like she is some kind of ''revelation from heaven"

when in fact - it's really just because she knows how to play what amounts to a SMALL GAME -- that 90 percent can't figure out because it has DISAPPEARED from THEIR own arsenals!

an allegory would be :

"when you are singing against CHOIR that doesn't know how to sing soft notes -- then YOU look like a genius for having a SMALL VOICE".

BUT -- LOOKING like a genius and hyped as such -- does NOT make you ONE!

it only really means -- you have a SMALL voice among people who dont know how to practice singing softly ...that's all really.

then on TOP of that -- her attitude that i find cold and thinly veiled in its condescension at the shots her rivals make (especially when they WIN the point) - is like watching someone who thinks she is OWED that RUN to the finals in majors when all she is capable of against the REAL big time , big game players on a good day of focused tennis the way they SHOULD ...

is to get SQUASHED like a bug on court.

HINGIS had the attitude that went with her REAL high quality talent , hands and brain -- backed up by her five majors.

radwa has attitude that ISN'T backed up by that kind of achievement.

and i DON'T care what people say about how polite and soft-[spoken she is...to me -- she gives off that ''feel" that somehow she thinks she actually is BETTER than the ones that actually WIN THE BIG prizes and finals than she or OVER her.

and as far as i am concerned -- she is the queen of the small tournaments -- like SEOUL open...........so people need to stop HYPING her as if she is some kind of world beater.

I hear you teddy. We all have our reasons for liking or disliking any player on tour. It doesn't have to be rational because we're humans and not robots, we have emotions and it's OK to express them. I hear what you're saying about Aggie, although it doesn't make me not like her, but I feel that your points are valid because I see everything that you say.

I've heard that about Hingis, things I didn't know at the time. I loved watching her play but was dispassionate about her as a person. One of the things that I read later was where she was presenting an award one year and she said "And the winner is...surprise...it's not me." Then I was glad that I hadn't been a real fan because I don't like haughty, superior attitudes in anyone. Ever.

i'd like to know why Kyrgios is playing tennis if he says that he doesn't like. Couldn't he to choose another sport? :-(

He loves basketball, but he's not necessarily tall enough or from the right country. If you're a wildly talented athlete, sometimes the sport choses you. I don't fault Nick for saying he doesn't love tennis, but I will fault him if he takes it for granted, squanders his talent and just meanders petulantly around the 20s ranking, taking the money and waiting to get out.

To me he seems to be more non-conformist than anything else and I don't think he likes obligations, discipline and sacrifice which is necessary for any sport but tennis probably one of the most

Dr Ivo is in the R16. What a great run by him. Even though he lost, young Donaldson has been impressive in this tournament.

Kei gets Ivo next.

Ha ha....I am glad I am not the only one with that complaint. I like Delpo but it was a distraction to look at him, in all that fluorescent green/yellow today.

Maybe a good thing, maybe not. Hard to sneak around the court and fool anyone if you're a neon sign.
