You have to admire guys like PCB. Shapo clearly has way more talent, but it just shows what it takes to win a tennis match.

PCB is a different type of player from some of the big scalps Shapo has the past month. Tight match though and the kid probably won't go away easily in the 3rd.

Shapo is a fighter though. When you look at the likes of Kyrgios and Grigor. This is what they're lacking. And sadly for them their window is probably closing as this kid is starting to grow. I think Zverev will be fine, but the others are in danger of being irrelevant before they become relevant. So excited about this kid

PCB is just playing adult tennis here. This is a valuable lesson for Shapo. He won't like this, but I'm sure in the future he'll think back and be grateful for the quick education he's getting

No shame in this. PCB has gone up in my estimation. He's a tough tough geezer. The kid is not yet ready for this sort of level. But it's so clear he will be soon

Oh well! But, I am still proud of the kid, he sent all three sets to TB.

More importantly, many of his errors were of the kind "right idea, but wrong execution". Hence, I am not worried too much about his future. The execution part comes with experience. The idea part comes from intelligence which he has.

In some sense, this match was won much like Coric's win over Sasha, by grinding out the opponent.

PCB just turned 26, a geezer compared to Shap for sure. I do like the PCB game though, he may be the one who makes the final.

Wouldn't be a big upset if he loses but I expect he takes Pouille or Schwartzman

It will technically be an upset, but not a big upset considering both Shortman and Lucas are seeded players and PCB is not a top 10 player.
PCB is just a steady grinder. Folks of that type can go deep, but never win a tourney like USO (or go very deep either). You got to keep in mind that PCB got here by playing four qualifiers.

Normally folks like everyone left on the bottom half can't go deep in a big event. But someone has to get to the final.

I don't think you'll find too many folks on the mens forum who'll go along with you on this (unless you're joking?). Couldn't give a hoot what he looks like, or where he comes from. The kid has got game

Is there anything apart from the similarity in the surname that would cause you to make these sort of accusations? Come on... be serious
