I didn't watch the match because I had something really important to do today: baking a pie. :lulz1: Checking the scores later, I see Meddie showed :joker: the door in straights. Great job on winning your first major. So the :ng-button: really has arrived. :yahoo:
Can you make me a spinach pie. Am trying to become a Vegan !

Obviously less pressure than this match, or this tournament, but not a great deal less. I always said that this match and this USO was going to carry a lot of pressure. I kept mentioning Serena not getting it done in 2015, and I got a lot of pooh-pooh around here that that wasn't going to be the same for Novak. Until it was.

AO coming up should have Rafa and Roger back, hopefully. It's Novak's anchor Major. It's not the CYGS pressure, but there will be a lot of pressure. IMHO.
You really think Rafa and Roger are going to come back to Australia swinging if they are back by then? I would bank on someone else if Djokovic were to get upset. Not to mention, there has been some underlying talk of Roger retirement with this current setback. Also, we don’t know what Rafa’s current recovery time is going to look like from his injury. If they are making a comeback, I wouldn’t expect Rafa to make noise until RG and Federer to possibly make a run until Wimbledon. I’m thinking Djokovic has more of an upside than those two if he can keep healthy for 2022.

Good final. Not the best quality match, but highly entertaining given the circumstances. At the end of the day, Medvedev's serving and Djokovic's fatigue seemed to make the biggest difference. This was the first match of Djokovic that I remember where he seemed..old. Presumably a bit jaded from the Zverev match, and the moment seemed to get to him too. Not to take too much away from Med's performance which was brilliant. Even though I'm not a fan of Djokovic I did feel for him during the ceremony. He still very likely will walk away with the slam record when all is said and done.

I'm probably the wrong one to ask for that kind of pie? :lol6: I'm a carnivore and I have a sweet tooth. My cuz in Atlanta is a vegan. Has been one for almost 2 decades. She loves it.

I think I could swing going vegetarian for 6 months to a year (have done 3+ months) but for me Vegan is a bridge too far.
My cuz I mentioned earlier was a vegetarian for most of the 90s and then turned vegan in the early 2000s. She said it was difficult in the beginning but then she found some good vegan recipes. Now, she has a plethora of vegan restaurants and grocery stores at her disposal in GA.

I think he has a little less upside than Zverev but more consistent. In my view, someone like Zverev has a better shot as beating Novak at his best vs Medvedev BUT Medvedev is the steadier, more consistent player.
Wrong. Zrerev has the bigger game and i think you only base on that. Med has quite a bit more tennis brain, and that counts a lot when they are close. Both need to get rid of choking though, seems like a trademark trait of the current top guns.

not yet, he choked pretty hard, just not enuf to give it away to a deflated novak.
He choked really bad for one service game. He definitely was tight at the end, but got the job done in 3, so I wouldn't go that hard on him for the tight game.

Did DJOKOVIC look like a spent force? He had a much longer road to the final and only won one match in three straight (second round).

Medvedev dropped just one set on route to the final, a record now shared with Rafa, over the last 30 years.

Make up a spinach pie , film it and upload over on youtube. Inflexible mugs like me can learn to make one !
While I can believe that cauliflower might make a crust, of sorts, I do not believe it can make a proper pie crust. I come from grandmothers that though butter was a compromise over lard for "flaky," and they were correct. You can make a bottom layer in a pie pan out of anything: graham crackers, riced cauliflower, etc. but I do not think you can make a proper pie without butter. I did a couple of solid years as a vegetarian. (Meaning a really one, none of that bs where you eat chicken, or fish. Fish, let us remind ourselves, are NOT vegetables.) It's a good exercise for everyone, and worth doing, if you can stick with it. But veganism is a bridge too far for me. Basically, why? And lest this seem off-topic, I believe Novak is a vegan. :lol6:

Is Roger a threat, even if he plays Oz? How much will Rafa be, though more likely, but at least they're scheduled to be in, which is more added to the threat, is my point. Bank on someone else if you like, but it's still my argument: the AO looks less of a lock for Novak because of: 1. age, 2. increased pressure for #21, 3. competition is threatening. And if you want to add: his old rivals are coming back, or at least one, which he didn't even have to face in this USO or last, and still didn't get the job done. No matter what some say, the window is closing even on Novak, and the pressure increases, because of that. Medvedev having broken through is a big deal. Presumably Thiem comes back. And some of the younger ones are becoming more of a threat. All I'm saying is that Novak does not go into Oz with much of anything like less pressure, and arguably the competition will be more formidable.
