Agree about not winning a slam but she's hopefully winning this match at least.

I'm surprised she won, but no, she's won't win the tournament.

Agree 100% there but the end of that screaming muppet is good enough for me and many!

I think we're all relieved not to hear the screaming anymore.

Good job Caro. :clap

It is especially good that you finished by breaking; if you had to serve it out, you probably
would have given the break back.

I too feel the same way. i.e., she will not win this or any other GS.

Having said that she seems to have a clear path to the finals now. I will be
very surprised if she is not a finalist. Once she is in the final, who knows who
will be on the other side and what will happen. Stranger things have happened.

Maria will eat dust today. Pova will get crushed by resurgent Caro.

Waiting to hear primal scream of death.

You should really try and stop jinxing her oponents. I start to think you are doing it in purpose :D

I did not predict any of Maria's previous opponents actually beating her (although I
did ardently root for each one of them). This is the first time at this tournament that
I am predicting that Dominatrix will be put to rest.

Good call GSM. Silence of the Lass.

And Kudos to you for calling it right, it took guts(the round kind) to call Caro in 3 sets.

I'm predicting a Serena vs. Jankovic final, with Serena winning.

I was confident it call it,I knew Caroline would not go away, like Maria's other opponents did in the previous matches, when they didnt take advantage the way Maria has been playing.
Caroline came back strong in that 3rd set...she played more aggressive tennis
Caroline deserved her victory today.

I was intensely watching the match that's why I was not taking part in your discussions - well I normally don't becuase I like to follow a good tennis match and this was definitely - specially in third set, where Caroline showed a lot of confidence and good ball play. Caroline 2.0 impresses again. I'm relly looking forward to an eventual final against Serena that could be epic - me thinks. Thanks for all the support to Caroline in here :clap and thanks for the beer :D

Seems like ages since Caro Wozniacki played great at a Slam vs one of the best, d Sharapova 64 26 62. Caro showed courage again.

Chris Evert ‏@ChrissieEvert
Congrats to @CaroWozniacki ;she is playing at a higher level with a bigger serve and better court positioning..oh, and her fight and desire!

The best point of the match today was when Caroline converted the break point for the
first time in the third set. Although it ended with an UFE of Maria, it was a beautiful rally
with tremendous defense shown by Caro.

I too think the final might be between Serena and Caroline.

Serena won against Caroline in both Toronto and Cincy. However, Caro gave a good
fight on both occassions. So, it will surely not be a one sided final even if Caro ends
up losing.

Yeah, their matches are getting much tougher for Serena. Would be a good final alright.

Love the headline on tennis.com. Wozniacki silences Sharapova.

Stats for the match:
Maria 39 Winners--43 UE--3/7 breaks --86 points
Caro 22 Winners--17 UE--4/11 breaks --95 points

2 more matches to come, for now, play is suspended, it's raining lightly.

In other words, Maria lost because of her errors. It's not like Caroline's anemic winner count got the job done.
