Hot and breezy in NY. Chance of a storm. The accompanying wind will hurt the screamer's ball toss, but the possible delay due to rain could help her. She is not the brightest bulb, and needs the coaching that is allowed during delays.

I am hoping I am unmute the tv in the next two hours because I enjoy learning about the sport by listening to the commentators.

I cant understand why players cant return Sara's serve,I know Sara puts a lot of spin and slice on her serve, still players should be able to adjust accordingly.

I think pros are not used to seeing serves that slow. Anything with so little pace is difficult to keep on the court.

I think Caro has the best shot. Remember their last few matches on HC have been really competitive. Maria won IW last year in straights, but the 2012 Miami match was 3 sets won by Maria. Caro beat Masha at the 2010 USO in this same round.

Looking good so far. After messing up from 3-0 at least she has 3 bps now again.

Too many typically pusher shots with no power from Wozniacki. That won't get the job done.

So much pushing a crack dealer would be proud. Hit the ball harder Wozniacki ffs.

Caro gets a couple of mistakes from Masha and holds for a 4-3 first set lead, she had her chances but has been ineffective. She just has to do better than sending the ball back.

Caro needs better tactics, she can't stand there and go toe to toe with Masha, she should know that.

But then may be Masha can make enough mistakes.
Caro has first set 6-4

Caro's game is to keep the points as long as possible. I would prefer she stay with what makes her comfortable rather than try to be someone else and go for winners all day every day.

But she can do a drop once in a while, or a moon-ball. She needs to throw everything at Masha.
Seems to me she is afraid of going for the corners because Masha burned her down the line.

At least move her from side to side.

Yeah, she simply has to move her side to side as Sharapova's a poor mover and hates getting bossed around and it causes her to malfunction. Biggest problem really imo is Wozniacki's not hitting the ball anywhere near hard enough. When you play a ball basher you can't timidly moonball constantly with pusher rallying. Need to hit with purpose. The moonballing may work against players who'll beat themselves but not against a one dimensional ball basher as the basher's shots are overpowering her weak ones.

That's more like it, Woz. See the difference a bit of aggression makes? Keep doing it!

Now that it is going to third set, Dominatrix clearly has the advantage. But, Caro can
still get it done if she musters enough courage. She needs to come to the net more often
as she did in first set. 100% defensive play will not cut it in the third set.

Which is precisely why Caroline will lose today, and will never win a GS.
