federers match on skysports..

two American commentators are on I don't know..(not any of skys normal usa blokes who are peter fleming, leif shiras, jeff tarango)

one of them has a really deep voice..Tom someone????..they keep slagging off Federer everytime he makes a tiny error,:speechless:

overlooking the fact he is a set and a break up, they prob expect 2006 Federer to be still on display..or perhaps that was the last time they watched him maybe..:D

looks like that big quarterfinal showdown is going to happen.

And Rafa will win it. Do not see why there is so much anticipation.

^ I wouldn't say she was anti-Fed, and I do think she's an interesting and informed commentator. Perhaps you should consider how sensitive you are. ;)

Interesting, I'll give you that. Mostly in terms of her clueless comments though! Which imo makes her completely uninformed actually :) I hope she writes off Fed again so he has more fuel for the fire. The look on her face was priceless when he lifted the Wimbledon trophy last year.

Clueless? How so? I think she's a good commentator, and you'll have to provide evidence of whatever her reaction was when he won the Wimbledon crown last year.

Right. I watched the end of last year's final for the last 20 mins and dunno what part it was at. I'll check again tomorrow but they zoomed in on her face and the reaction was priceless. A grumpy look of disgust and bewilderment. Regarding her being clueless, as I mentioned already the Simon comment says it all. She said "Roger always handles Simon with ease". Couldn't be further from the truth. Simon has given him hell in the past. So clearly she hasn't a clue.

Federer and Nadal are looking great in this tournament. We are one match away from potentially seeing a Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal US Open match. Unfortunately, it will be a quarterfinal match not a final match. Although, it will feel like a final match because whomever wins that match will be in the US Open finals. Let's face it: Nobody in the Ferrer's quarter would beat these two guys in a five set match.

Anyways, I just want to give you guys some facts: Nadal is the only player in the draw who hasn't been broken and he has only faced five break points in thirty seven service games. In addition to that, he has broken his opponent 17 times in three matches. He is has converted 17 of 28 break point opportunities and that equals to 61 percent. Let's hope he continues this streak towards the end of the tournament!

By the way, Federer and Nadal have only lost 21 games in three matches.

Roger vs Rafa will be more interesting than most are giving it credit if Roger keeps up this level. I do think it will be close like their Cinci match (Rafa just can't get in every service game of his on this surface), but Federer needs to win the first set. I don't see him being able to physically hang in there if it's a tight, long match.

I'm interested in seeing how well Rafa serves. The one thing about their match-up that not many mention is that on all surfaces, Federer almost always gets inside Nadal's service games and rarely allows him an easy hold, but he just very rarely converts when it comes to break points. In Cinci, that wasn't the case, as Nadal was serving phenomenally well, and he held his serve pretty comfortably throughout. If that's the case again, I think Nadal wins.

exactly, anyone even thinking "Roger always handles Simon with ease" either doesn't watch them play, or is complete idiot. Simon clearly is a bad matchup for Fed, who is that commentator again? :D
