That was a pretty sublime performance there from Rafa. Dodig too played well but was just outclassed.

Agreed. Scary stuff from Nadal given that he still has some gears. He's now 56-3 for the season. Absolutely ridiculous.

For sure. One of the best seasons he's ever had. If he wins this tournament I'd count it a better year than 2010 personally eventhough he won 3 slams that year. Interested to see how he does in the indoor season. He's playing so confidently right now I'd hazard a guess he'll do much better than he usually does.

Rafa is sharp and crushing his shots. Playing with so much confidence. Wow.

........ and CBS switches to Huncher in a tiebreaker.

Huncher lol. So true. His posture is terrible.

:) I was talking about Huntuchova.

ROFL! :laydownlaughing

If Nadal's form holds, I don't see anyone beating him here. The others just aren't at his level right now. We'll see how the rest of the weekend plays out, but Nadal is definitely making his case for holding this trophy next Mon.

Don't you all talk about my Dani baby like that!

Big John is into the 4th set, nothing new here, we should have a 5 setter coming, at least I am hoping for it.

Iznah flames out of the Open again...

And to Kohlschreiber again, no less. Weird.

Hats off to Philipp. He played a terrific match, against a very uncomfortable, awkward opponent.

Wow, Kohlshreiber even took him in the TB. At least it will be the more interesting match, v. Rafa. And I don't underestimate Kohly.

This is where one wonders whether the "big" guys like Isner and Del Pony have played too much tennis coming into the Slam. Weren't they in the finals of DC and wasn't Isner in Georgia again?

Congrats to Kohli!

john isner went a bit mental.. he played 3 wks in a row I think then withdrew from his title defence at wherever it was the wk before uso..

del potro won Washington but that was only 4 matches, didn't do much in the 2 masters hc unfortunately..no reason he should be tired at all.

5 matches in DC, 2 in Canada, and 4 in Cinci. And I know his wrist was sore, but he was looking more lethargic than usual here.

His wrist was bothering him. Clearly evident from all the BH slicing. He was doing his best butcher impression in that match.

Kohlschreiber will make it interesting against Rafa. Not necessarily result-wise, but his backhand is good enough and he plays him aggressively enough to make it a nice battle from the baseline. The H2H is heavily in Nadal's favor but watching their matches, Nadal is never able to be in full autopilot mode, which is good for the neutrals.

I thought you'd abdicated. Good to see you back, General.

I am not happy with having to wait all night to see Roger...and having to listen to Martina...

Yes, but Camila Giorgi is lovely.

baron and I go way back.

we are not going to part company anytime soon.

:D:D

now lets get this party started.

did you know that clay warrior has held serve 37 times in a row?

I think he has more gears on the serve alone. he will bring out the heat if he has to in the final.

he has fire in his eyes and a conquest on his mind.
