Sloane has all the physical gifts to be great, whats lacking is between the ears... has zero self esteem.I think she envies Serena s confidence and always ask herself why she doesnt have that..thats why she is always bitter and applauds Serena s losses.

A little funny tweet which puzzles me a bit:

Caroline Wozniacki @CaroWozniacki · 41 min

My @usopen driver doesn't know how to get from manhattan to the site. Interesting. #matchday

How can that happen today??? Well she's reached the US Open BUT!

The driver is from Belarus just like Sasnovich
If I was the driver, I get lost on way from Manhattan to Brooklyn too, especially with Caro in my car!
:plot
I'll make sure I get stuck in traffic as well, that's easy to do in NY.

Belinda Benci, the unseeded 17 year old from Switzerland, has won her second match
at USO.

She just beat Kurumi Nara, a seeded player and that too with a score line of 6-1 in the final set.

Looks like at this rate she may be ready to win the Mixed Doubles Gold Medal along with
Roger in 2016. Way to go girl. :clap

Piotr to Caro before the match:

Caro, remember I sent you to boxing class a few years ago? It was mainly to get you meaner and more aggressive on court. I want you to treat this next opponent like that punching bag you used to punch.

The above statement was imagined by Tennis Frontier correspondent, no relations to Piotr.

Behind 2-0 and facing game point, Simo roars back and takes the next 6 games for a 6-2 first set.

Puig/Petko started, Puig gets early break. Lets go Monica.

I'm back. I see Sloane exited and it appears it doesn't matter who her coach is. She kicked Annacone when the problem is within her. I see Simo has MP and JJ wins the opening set over Piro

Simo came back strong, after losing first 2 games, she only lost 1 game the rest of the way.
A performance worthy of #2 seed.

Diversion from serious tennis:

Mixed doubles draw is out. I am listing a few interesting (purely subjective) pairs, not necessarily top seeds below,

1. Sania Mirza and Bruno Soares (seeded no. 1)
2. Melani Oudin and Rajeev Ram (unseeded)
3. Kristina Malendovic and Daniel Nestor (4)
4. Cara Black and Leander Peas (3)
5. Donald Young and Taylor Towsend (unseeded)
6. Martina Hingis and Robert Lindstedt (unseeded)
7. Julia Georges and Nenad Zimonjic (seeded something)

Sania and Soares just won their first round match.

Solid win from Jankovic 75 64 over Pironkova

:clap Terrific. I've always liked her, and I hope she can get a good run going in New York.

Me too, though with a Jankovic match you can always expect some type of drama on court.....;)

Looks like Sharapova started.
You know my in-laws are in town from the Czech Republic (yeah bad timing I know) and Sharapova was playing a couple nights ago and my FIL didn't even know who was playing and said 'Oh you can identify that noise anywhere in the world, you know exactly who it is'
I was thinking maybe she does it as a brand thing now. She couldn't stop even if she wanted to ;)

Caro is on too. Ahead 5-1, she will serve for the first set.

Monica and Petko are playing 3rd set, Monica was ahead 4-1 but just got broken.
