Osaka has not played well to me since the AO? she was solid in her match against Gauff a 15 year old,she had to,she has not been playing well at all, regardless of the knee injury.Tell me what tournament after the AO Osaka has played well? she has not.
Osaka played her best match at the Open against a 15yr old..lol

Sloane needs to get married, have an extended honeymoon and then sit down in the off season and decide if she wants to be a full-time wife or a dedicated/focus tennis player.

I'm not gonna say I haven't considered that the planning of a wedding may be part of her problem. But someone of her wealth should really have plenty of help in that department. And I think most of her losses this year have been a lack of confidence. And a lack of problem solving ability.

But to say she needs to choose between being a wife and a tennis player is just annoyingly sexist. Like it's just ... I mean. We are just so beyond this.

Stephens has always been inconsistent. As a fan of hers since she showed up on tour, I've been through her early 2012 high. Followed by 3 seasons of futility, then the injury that took her out for almost a year. Her game can be great. And it can be devastating. But she struggles with a few key top players. And she struggles with hungry unknown players when she doesn't come in ready to roll and starts slow. I don't know what the disconnect is. Maybe she doesn't do enough prep or enough scouting/research. Or maybe it's just that the game really does have a lot of depth and her game just doesn't allow her to dominate. I don't know. And clearly she doesn't either.

I do agree that she needs more focus. She does seem off. Like she doesn't entirely want to be on court. But I think it has more to do with the fact that she keeps losing and can't get her confidence back and therefore just keeps playing poorly and losing. And it's a vicious cycle.

She can play at a top 20 or top 10 level and never win another slam and still make over a million a year for years to come. The game has that much money floating around now. You can play good tennis well into your early 30s. I think she'll win more slams. And more big tournaments. And I hope she can get to number 1. But if she doesn't, then that's the way it goes. And that's mostly on her. Maybe not entirely. Because there are a lot of really good players out there right now who don't struggle with too many players. But it's up to her.

But to say she has to choose between the 2 is ridiculous.

True Naomi's interview has been better than her tennis..I can't make any excuses but she just wasn't dialed in.
Osaka was playing well at Cincy but as I wrote she ran into my new favorite players, the dreaded Su-Wei..

Remember Osaka did have off court drama's after getting rid of her former coach, she is young and I felt the pressure got to her, which is understandable, when on I love watching Osaka play. She is the defending champion at the USO,lets see if she can defend her title, which to me is a indication of a champion player.

Osaka is lovely but there is a pattern about her that is being revealed..she is a user. She is used Sasha and discarded him, used Coco yesterday to suit her own agenda. Her family used the Williams against them taking all their staff members...I am not sold on Osaka because she is calculating..thats all.
She wanted the Coco magic and had to pull a stunt like that. She could have let Coco go but insisted that Coco stay because she wanted the optics...this was a PR move and it worked.

I am surprised my friend, you didn't care too much for Sasha when he became a member Vikas team..Let's give Osaka's brief career a chance..she is still maturing and we really don't know the details of why she got rid of Sasha.. Naomi is an excellent tennis player and for my money, she is number 3 after Serena and Madison plus Halep that I would pay to watch or sit down to view on TV..(plus I love me some Su-Wei)

Serena breaks back

First time meeting between the 2 players,so may take a little while for both players to get used to their patterns of play

One more win and Konta will have reached SF at all four slams during her career!
