12th seeded Genie goes back into the bottle taken out by an unknown player in straight sets.
It is actually a rare occasion when I have to call a #12 seed going out in opening round as not much of a big upset.

p.s. Wimbledon lost the opportunity to put her on centre court. :snicker

She just dumped a ton of points, too (1,300). Live Rankings has her dropping 12 places today, down to No. 24.

No surprise but still shocking the way she has fallen. Does she have a sports shrink yet? If not, she needs one ASAP.
Dunno...but she strikes me as the type who would say she doesn't need it...much like she said she didn't really need a coach (or something to that effect)

:nono and with that comes the inevitable bad -draw scenario
Nowadays she's losing to anybody. Doesn't even make it to a 3rd round to play a top seed. She doesn't need help from a favorable draw at this time

After saving 3 MP's, Ana is gone. She'll have to put that little white dress to use in the NA HC

This is another big upset. She's too much of a power player to get bossed by Coco.

Wow...the Americans came to play today. Thought BMS would focus on doubles after finding her groove with Lucie, but she still has opportunities to win.
And well Pliskova...just nothing I can say about that :(

Today, we met the daily quota of 3 upsets.

1. #7 Ana Ivanovic lost to BMS in straight sets.
2. #11 Ka. Pliskova lost to Coco in straight sets.
3. #19 Sarah Errani lost to Krunic in 3 sets.

Now, who is ready to correctly guess the 3 upsets of tomorrow.

Normally, in Wimby lot of players use to fall down (I am not talking upsets here, I am talking literal falls). But, I have not seen very many falls this year, except for Serena falling once in R1. So, the three weeks is probably working, in allowing people to get their grass feet.

Yes, right...never thought she will be out in rd. 2.
I had seen Coco somewhere last yr or before that playing grass warm up tournament very well.

Think it's more to do with the weather , when it's hot the court is more dry so less chance of slipping .

Coco is a big ball basher if she meets a player who has variety she will lose, she is a player who doesnt have a plan b ...give her pace and a sledgehammer and she will be good to go.
