Svitolina is doing well this season, but i think she still can do a lot better, particularly at slams. Elina needs to work on her second serve. It hinders her.

Elina put up a good fight but lost to Kerbie in straights. I saw her match in Cincy when she pulled the upset on Petra, she does good counter-punching. I agree her serve is inconsistent at best. Even her first serve can be liability. Since her quarterfinal run in Cincy, she bombed out in 2 straight events, out in the first round of New Haven and US Open, now exiting here in the second round. I think hard courts are her best surface.

One thing is for sure, this is her best year yet and she is young, hopefully she will improve and get better.

Seeing I am on a winning streak at the moment in my selections...:)

My predicated winners are

Dellacqua,Jankovic,CSN and Woznicacki.

In regards to the doubles....I feel the No 1 seeds Black/Mirza will win against Hingis/Bencic,also the no 2 seeds Kops-Jones/Spears will win against Cibulkova/Flipkens.

Well you're starting really well with your predictions 2 doubles correct and the first single:cool:

Here a picture of Dellacqua who played a really good match which looks promising for her.

Honestly JJ how many chances do you need to close out a first set?
You attempted twice to serve out the first set, then it went to a t/break,you had the mini break, again you let it slip out of your grasp.Your 2nd serve and return of serve has let you down so far in this match
Garbine won the 1st set 76(4)

Alas I feel my winning streak has come to a end.

Mugu came through in a very tight match agains JJ. Some impressive duels and a JJ that wouldn't give in and fought to the last ball. Today Mugu was the best and congrats to her.:clap

Caro has work to do, behind early break in the deciding set.
Needs to stop donating break points too.

Brilliant matchup and a little scare for Caroline but she grinded through although it's not her best match but consistency did the job - great play by Gajdosova who doesn't deserve to be so low ranked.:clap

The wozi wiz can get up to rank 7 if she wins the event. She was around 17 only few months ago..
Those who work get their reward. Those who "have pleasure on court" wont.
Its so simple but sometimes the brain is too tired and just not ready. We Simo, are only humans.
We were fighting like dogs in 2013, now we rest.

I am counting Mugu as the best future Spanish player, she has major(Grand Slam) potential.

Ivanovic v Safarova

A tough match to call. The H2h favours Safarova 5-2.Ana's victory over Azarenka, will give her the confidence booster she needed after her early exit from the USO.
Four of Lucie's five wins over Ana have come in straight set wins.

I am still favouring Lucie to win in 3 sets.

How about Domi vs. Angie?
Domi leads H2H 4-2

If Angie loses here she will fall further behind Caro.
With Li Na out of the picture, the year end race looks promising for top 9 instead of top 8

^ Well going on what I saw in Domi's last match here in Tokyo,I am favouring Kerber, regardless of the h2h factor favouring Domi.

I noted that match on the schedule yesterday, and didn't dare hope, or post, but good for Garbiñe! I'm not sure about Slam potential, but she has a good game and great fight.

Gabi losing to Casey? As they say on anotherr forum, she is still a mug
I still predict a come back from Gabi. She is better player than Casey but has less experience than her.
Hard to tell the outcome of this match.
