It really appalls me to see tournaments like the one in San Jose disappear, one that Milos Raonic really enjoyed and did well at, it was a scintillating final last year with Tommy Hass. Dollars do dictate in these days where tournaments will get bigger crowds and it seems Asia has the market on this. Virtually, impossible for most of us to get over there to cover an event, cost is extreme, even for me being on the west coast. I have never envisioned going to Asia to cover a tennis event, but perhaps one day it may happen. Yes, I will be interested to see if Singapore will draw crowds to justify the move from Istanbul, after the women's year end event was held there. At least the men, still remain in London.

Can Errani find her momentum or is it Erakovic who continues to impress - we'll see
Weather still hot - 26 c and humidity 77%!
Errani in front 41 but Erkovic wins 1st set 64 - how about that. And deserved too. Erakovic wins second set 61 and is into second round and that ends Tuesdays matches. Errani continues slumping.

Well, she has that kind of energy.

A day of seeds paradise is over as the commentator said.
hoergren said:Ana won the battle of the former #1 s. Ana was playing very well in the first set with wonderful shots and a committed gameplay. Second set was much more equal as Vika had got her diesel engine going and presented the audience with terriffic netplay. Too many errors spoiled the set for Vika and Ana could take the well deserved victory. Vika is almost back on her level after her long injury period. Congrats to Ana.
Time for the last play of the day Kerber vs Svitolina - interesting match.
