So you think it's a blunder that Novak said that, but you agree that most people think that the Olympics are the biggest sports event. I'm not saying that that makes Nadal better because he has the gold medal. All I would say is that each of the Big 3 is going to have some things that the other 2 don't have. If you weren't so anxious for Novak to have them all, or diminish the ones he doesn't have, you could see that.
olympics are the biggest sports event, but the meaning for the individual sports is different imo
One can’t speak of the same importance in this regard if comparing for example athletics/swimming with tennis

Andy Murray is the GOAT, because he's won Olympic Gold twice, more than Nadal, Djokovic, Federer, Sampras, Borg, Becker, McEnroe, Connors, Laver, Rosewall, Gonzales, and Tilden combined.

GOATRAY.

How embarrassing for Federer and Nadal! Roger overtakes Sampras in less than 10 years, now he's about to be surpassed before he retires!
Dude, if you think that list of big titles should be embarrassing for anyone, you need to recalibrate your thinking. And should we revisit your post about Nadal's "unbalanced" resume of yesterday, or the day before? THAT didn't age well, DID IT? Nadal now has 8 Majors off of clay. That passes McEnroe's total haul of 7, and ties him with Connors, Lendl and Agassi, if you take away ALL of the RG titles. Having won 13 RG titles (to date) doesn't make him a less great tennis player, it makes him more of one. I'm not sure what about that is unclear.

Let's not forget that if we take away all of Nadal's 13 RG titles it would mean that he has 8 slams but with only 3 played (AO, W, USO). Agassi, Lendl and Connors have 8 slams but with all 4 played (AO, RG, W, USO). So by taking away his 13 RGs Nadal would actually still be BETTER than Agassi, Lendl and Connors's whole careers.

Nadal 21>Djokovic 20 it's over Nadal Goat move on Already.

You're easily satiable! Rafa wins one major and it's a cause for celebration and to shut down all discussion concerning Goat-dom! As I've said so many times, Novak wins his championships in clumps while Rafa's coming and going lucky to "eeek" out 1 most of the time! It's not like I'm even that much of a fan of Djokovic's! IMO his resume is more balanced, having won 3 majors in a season 3 times, has won all 14 ATP Events at least twice (Dub. Golden-Masters) and is overtaking Fed in the record books in just about every category! We have 3 more Majors to go this season! I think after what happened "down under," he might be "loaded for bear" and punish his opponents! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :-)2:exploding-head::clap:

But you're one to talk, aren't you? Novak's wins "in clumps" are recent, and Rafa's "wins in clumps" came long before Novak, in spite of his early talent, could really seem to post much, so we can go around on this all day.

I will give you this: I find it hilarious, and rather serious in the press, that there is such a thing as the GOAT, "for the moment." Like many of us have said: a) there is no GOAT, and b) can't we wait until they retire? Nope, it's going to go Major by Major. But don't be seduced, people.

You don't understand tennis history or analysis.
I do understand history however for me personal it's all about the slams.

Same people have different Goat deciders it doesn't mean they don't know history clown.

I know all the stats Djokovic has and Federer, Sampras or laver but I'm simple guy so deal with it.

I watched the all matches from 80s, 90s and 2000s and been studying their stats for long time now.

Personality for Nadal still the Goat because his tennis Career Goes beyond numbers and stats.
