You attribute too much importance to things that others are discussing casually. I've also noticed that when you are told off, you ask people to stop quoting you. You've made a mountain out of a mole hill. I have no idea why. Even your fellow Feddies said, "good on Feli," and moved on. I think we all have. I suggest you do, too. It's a very minor factoid/record.

So very minor that you can't stop debating me about it for another 10 pages.:lulz1:

Sorry but you lost the copout card of calling it casual when you're so badly triggered. You can't have the cake and eat it too. :lulz1:
Why, because Feliciano Lopez means so much to me? You really have no ability to take the temperature of a conversation. I know that every other sentient person in this thread understands me, though they will wonder why I'm still engaging with you, so I'll stop now.

You don't care about Feli that's why I find it funny how much you're arguing me on this only because I called this record an empty one which indirectly suits Fed's case. :lulz1:

You're such an idiot you don't realize that I wasn't arguing with you. Your point never rose to the level of debate.

Look let's not throw insults when we can't formulate arguments based on logic and facts, ok? Please don't be offended, precious, but you're utterly clueless about tennis. You should quit this sport and follow wrestling or something. There are plenty of musclemen like Nadull there for you to worship. :lulz1:

Few longevity records to take note of.

1. Deliciano surpassed Fed with 66 consecutive GS appearances.

2. Fed tied Connors for appearing in Wimbledon 20 times.

3. Fed tied with Connors for winning most matches (174) on grass.

I must point out that Fed broke the record for maximum number of (not necessarily consecutive) GS appearances few years ago and his record keeps getting strengthened every time he plays another slam event. Before Fed broke, the record was held by the Magician Santoro at 70 slams. Actually, in this category Fed has the record even if you throw in the women as well.

It is good to see that Fed broke his own consecutive GS appearance streak by withdrawing because unlike Feli, Fed doesn't play slams to collect his Rd 3 runner up cheque. :D

So Nadal made self-serving comments to explain atrocious losses to clowns for 5 years. I guess we are supposed to take it at face value. HUGE backswing and his only real weapon being insane topspin has nothing to do with it? Yes he doesn't move as well as before there is no doubt and that's turned narrow escapes into humiliating losses.
Yes, you are supposed to take those comments on face value. You accept that Roger's knees hurt on clay, don't you? Wear and tear, dude. You just don't want to believe that anything has changed because that would mean Rafa ever was good enough to beat Roger in his prime not just "lucky." But seriously...you think Nadal has the same knees he did when he was 22?

Huge backswing and insane top spin that led him to 5 Wimbledon finals. This is becoming stupid but you've been crazier than usual lately. The biggest difference is actually his inability to go down low, which is preventing him from taking the ball as early as he was on grass earlier in his career (which you'd notice if you bothered to look past your agenda), hit his backhand as effectively, and of course, make the same passing shots he used to.

Actually no I don't take Roger's comments at face value regarding his knees hurting on clay, I recognize there is the possibility he is saying that so it doesn't look as bad that he skips the season. Also it's not the same as Nadal saying "I've been awful on grass lately because I can't bend low". And he was barely good enough to beat Roger playing at a low level during what was a terrible season for him all year long.

With Nadal at 17 majors and Roger turning 37, Darth has been very twitchy...actually for a while.

We are talking about him struggling the first week. Basically the only years he didn't struggle mightily early on was 2008 and 2011. Even in 2008 I think had SP against him to go down 2-1 vs lowly Gulbis in the 3rd round. Clearly the grass plays more to his liking as it gets worn down.

It's important that dull goes out in the next round to Minaur or else he retains #1 till Canada which will be even more disgusting if Fed wins Wimbledon and has 2 slams in the year but Nadull will have #1 by just vulturing clay.

Another way of looking at that is that it's important that Nadal gets past the 3rd round at Wimbledon.

The Novak - Milos match got suspended at one set all and with a score of 5-6 (with Novak to serve) due to bad light. The supervisor came and told them that the conditions are sub-optimal, but if both of them want to play, they will let them play one more game, but not the tie-breaker. The players decided not to play that one game also.

Where was this supervisor in 2008, when I needed him?

Roger shouldn't have been in that position. Even I don't blame the light, I put it solely on that head of his which took a major beating at RG and led to him getting embarrassed on grass. I said it before (Moxie loves this phrase) but Roger's 2008 performance clearly aged terribly when we consider what Nadal has done on grass and what Roger is doing 10 years later. The "average" Roger on grass in 2017 and Wimbledon so far this year looks stronger than that 2008 patsy.

I agree with that part. However, having put himself in that position, he might have still dug himself out of it, if the conditions were normal.

Possibly but it was dark on both sides of the net. Stupid Wimbledon didn't have lights, and they also have a garbage surface now.

I don't understand. The surface was ok then, when Rafa was winning and making finals, but "garbage" now with Roger back to winning on it? When did the surface become "garbage," according to you.

Sometimes Fed fans tend to go too deep in their analysis. Quite frankly the grass hasn't changed as much since they changed the grass in 2002. In 2001, the grass was drastically different, I think we all agree on that. In 2001, the grass composition was 75 % rye + 25 % creeping red fescue. From 2002, they changed it to 100% rye grass.

After the grass composition was changed in 2002, how quick and how bouncy the court is depends on the type of balls used(if RG 11 style balls then easier to hit through the court specially for players who rely on timing like Fed, Haas) and weather conditions. If it's hotter and no rain, the courts are quicker but the bounce is higher.
