Ray is a "fixer" He fixes things legally and illegally to make problems go away for the rich and famous. Not quite mafia but not far removed and chances are there are a fair share of people with that same "job" at least in this country.

Hey guys, I don't think Ray ever did anything legally :laydownlaughing

My favourite T.v. shows were Coast, Vikings, History of Scotland, History of Ancient Britain, Timeteam, Spring/summer/autumn/winter watch, porridge and open all hours. Most of them aren't on t.v. now but I have some box sets which I watch.

Ray really has a life. He works a job where he doesn't have to pay taxes, he has a wife at home (although I don't think she is remotely attractive however she is there to serve his needs and allows him to have extra martial affairs with out any explanations), an upscale apartment and a license to live above the law although he works below the law. And you thought James Bond had it good:angel:

Season 3 has started great, but I have a question for you lads that will require an explanation that doesn't give away any spoilers! :)

Mickey and Daryl threw a shady party for a bunch of internet geeks who consumed too much product, leaving Mickey holding a 10 grand debt, and having to go to that old battle-axe Armenian tough broad granny. The question is, why didn't Mickey and Daryl not just strongarm the geeks instead? I have a feeling the tip of a slippery slope has been reached, that's gonna drag them all sliding down. But instead of approaching granny, why not batter the kids? Does this get explained?

Brilliant show, though. The acting is top notch, hard to say who's the greatest actor in it, but Ray, Terry and Mickey are incredible...

I think that Mickey and Daryl didn't feel that the geeks had the money.. IDK

Okay so while we're thinking of the acting (well I am!) I think terry and Abby are great, because the bloke who plays Terry is from London, and Abby is from Northern Ireland. I often wonder why American tv shows hire Brits to put on American accents, you have so many great American actors who could play these parts equally well.

Do all the actors get the Boston accent right?

I think Liev Schreiber gets that understated act down pat. He's brilliant, he smoulders, he's thuggish, but he's sensitive too. And Jon Voight steals every scene, without hamming it up. The whole cast is great but these are noticeable, to me...

Wow..the actress that plays Abby is a Brit.. She is a brilliant actress and her accent is pretty solid. Terry is brilliant, heck all are. Liev is superb..Jon Voight gets better every episode.

I have also notice a ton of Brit actors have mastered the American accent.(Idris Elba playing Stringer Bell was so amazing, I never thought he could have been a Brit). Maybe it's that the Brits are more classically tutored or trained..I don't know what it is but keep it coming.

Yeah, the Wire is a good example: both the leads are English. I don't see the point of it myself, and I'm sure a lot of excellent American actors are wondering why thn favour of somebody who has to learn the accent...

The actress that plays Abby also played a prostitute on Deadwood (a show on the Wild West). I can't argue with the casting choices, the acting on Ray Donovan is phenomenal and I'd say they have the Boston accent down pat, especially the actress that plays Abby.

Like AP I did a double take when I realized the actor that played Stringer was British. He was awesome on that show, an amazing show that I miss.

Has anyone seen Penny Dreadful? Several people have recommended it to me.

if by year to year anticipation --i've only really followed GoT And Penny Dreadful.

i am still upset that they stopped - unceremoniously --

teh DRACULA by jonatahn rhys-meyers
and SHERLOCK HOLMES of cumberbatch
other than these -- no series i've tried to be curious about has really been of interest to me.

and then avidly watch and rewatch attenborough's (and spin-offs by him) PLANET EARTH series .

the rest - i just try and catch whatever movie is interesting.

i should find out of those you mentioned are in the tv list. maybe i haven't been paying attention because i like seriously done documentaries.
Attenborough's a legend. The best.

and his PLANET EARTH series and related documentaries --

I always insert to any cquaintance with kids who talk about what to get for their kids :

"a must - a must - a must -- every child on earth should have it ".
i think it should be REQUIRED course for schools. as easily as mathematics and grammar or anything traditionally in the curriculum .

if the world is to truly improve and 'advance' beyond our failures --

ONE of the way is for that magnificent opus to be shown in theatres on a regular basis. even public venues. seriously. i actually think his Planet Earth is one of the GREATEST , truly greatest body-of-work ever realized by a single person in our entire history.

seriously.

I plowed through the first season of Suits the past week. Very good show, nice mix of comedy and drama.

Anyone been watching "The Night Of"? It's a new show on HBO with outstanding reviews. It's on my list.

This show is incredible this year and it's set up great for the last two episodes. It really feels like almost every episode has been really gripping and even the couple slow ones have been really good.

I binge-watched the first season of Suits last week. Really good show, nice combo of comedy and drama. And the chick who plays Rachel is smoking hot, as in I'd probably watch the show even if it was mediocre.
