I don't think the official rankings are updated yet, but I think Nole increased his lead over Federer and he is now over 4000 points ahead. He is doing better than last year at this point, that was my wish before the start of the season. He can afford to calculate with his results a bit for a couple of months as he has IW and Miami to defend. But he can regain some points on clay as he skipped Madrid completely. He is in a nice position to add to his #1 weeks count for quite a few weeks.:clap

I wonder if #9 or #10 player even has 4000 points in total.

The rankings will be out tomorrow so we'll know more then.

According to the live ranking site:

9. Tomas Berdych 4340 points
10 Marin Cilic 3450 points.

There is a large gap after the 3-9 ranked guys.

Live ATP Rankings

Thanks Kirijax, I added the site to my favourites. I usually wait for Monday's ATP official rankings.

I was told wrong information, Nole is 3960 points ahead of Federer, not over 4000.

Lopez is really playing some remarkable tennis at age 33

Pretty soon, ATP will become a branch of AARP (perhaps, I should say IARP).

Mr Tented or anyone who may now. I am curious, How many weeks have these 3 players(Djoker, Fed and Rafa ) been ranked in the top 3 spots.. Its probably longer than Borg, Connors and McEnroe

Novak now has 136 total weeks at #1, just 4 behind Rafa - so he's going to pass him in about a month. It is hard imagining Novak relinquishing #1 this year, or at least before Wimbledon. It seems a foregone conclusion that he'll at least surpass 200 weeks before he's through.

My boy Marsel had a nice run couple years back at the Us Open and I was expecting him to continue the trend but the last couple of years he slid down the rankings with injuries and such. I think he is stronger now and top 50 is possible.

Interesting turn of events. According to live rankings page, if Andy manages to win
against Isner (the British guys will surely lose to Brian Brothers and so this match will
happen), Murray edges past Kei and gets the coveted #4 spot back just in time before
the seeding for IW is determined.

Also, I have checked their calculations and it is right.

Murray has multiple incentives to win the match against Isner as

a. he can ensure DC victory for UK
b. Can become hero in Scotland as this is being played there
c. Can get to #4

Hey, GSM, do you know why on live rankings, on Kei's case, next points and total points are equal his current points?

andy murray can move in 4th rank if win 2nd live dc singles ?. what about the mighty nish ?. japan are in the world group arnt they playing Canada away ?.

I looked at his rank breakdown and no dc points to defend from last year ?, unless I missed a poast lol..or is it all about countable/uncountable pts ?. I noticed kie had a couple of 90pts tourneys in the uncountable column. actually screw all that..I prob got it all wrong, lets wait till Mondays rank charts are out.

I usually understand the point system, but how they do or not apply the DC points is really fuzzy for me too.

I compared what both Andy and Kei do have as countable events, and they look the same to me, each have 4 500 events and 2 250. DC points are counted like a 500 event, and in this case both should not receive any, because they are maxed out and all of their 500 countable is 90 points at the minimum. What am I missing?
