With his title today Goffin will move up to number 35 in the rankings tomorrow.

Goffin got ranked 32, even bettter than the unofficial estimates predicted.

It may not look like a big deal, but it is as 32 is a special number. Assuming he
can hold on to it or improve it, he will get seeded slot in Grandslams.

Thanks, herios. :)

I like Goffin, so it's great to see him continuing to do well lately.

It's also impressive that Rosol, at 29, is hitting an all-time career high.

By beating Ferrer today Troicki is now up to 151 in the live rankings and has a good shot surely of beating Giraldo too and moving even further up here. Beating a top 5 player already in his first ATP level match since his comeback is impressive.

He needs to get into top 104 to get direct entry to AO. and he needs to do that six weeks before
AO starts. Basically, this means by end of November he needs to accomplish this. It is quite doable by him I suppose.

Viktor Troicki is racing up the rankings now with his win over Youzhny today at Beijing and it's not over yet. He's up to 137 now.

Goffin and Cuevas have been on a tear in the 250s. It'll be interesting to see their impact in Shanghai
I don't think Goffin is qualified for Shanghai, as he has not been ranked high enough before the cut-off. He has come a long way in the last few weeks with points made at the USO, DC and the victory in Metz.
And he is playing this week a challenger in Mons, so that says to me, he did not entered in the qualifications for this Master.

New career high for the following players:

6. Kei Nishikori 24y
16. Kevin Anderson 28y
27. David Goffin 23y
42. Steve Johnson 24y
65. Victor Estrella Burgos 34y
100. Filip Krajinovic 22y

Kei climbs one more spot on the ladder. It will be interesting to see how high is his ceiling. Goffin also moves up some more via a challenger.
Both Johnson and Burgos have earned as much prize money this year as in their whole career before.
Steve is now ranked #2 among USA players.
A new player enters the top 100, Serbian Krajinovic.

I like to mention Kozlov Stefan, 16, stormed in first 500.

Thanks Tented!

Even with bad injuries and poor results on clay, Rafa is still second. It's not a stellar season for anybody, Nole is top, but with only five titles so far, and poor results across the summer hards...

If Roger goes deeper than Rafa this week he'll be ranked #2. Assuming he doesn't win the whole tournament, he'd be ranked in the top 2 despite holding 0/4 slams, just 1 of a possible 9 M1000 and no World Tour Finals either. Strange 12 months!

He might hold it by the end of the year, certainly, but if Roger is ranked in the top two next week, that won't be the case.

I just find it slightly odd - not trying to suggest it's an undeserved ranking or anything daft like that, I just wonder how often you see a player rank that highly with so few big accolades in the 12 months prior.

For instance, the week after Murray won Wimbledon, he was reigning champion of two slams, the Olympics (which was only 750 points, admittedly), and the Miami Masters, runner up in Australia too and he was ranked in the same place as Roger might well be last week with just Cincinnati and a runner up at Wimbledon to his name.

Just goes to show, consistency is king.

No prob, I got that part. Was just cutting old Wodge some slack as he may win the WTF yet :D Doubtful but he's won it more than anyone else on tour currently so definitely favourite behind Novak.
