^^ Hey now, I'm sure Roger himself is celebrating aplenty that Novak turned into baby Jesus for 12 months in 2011. Otherwise we'd be watching a new GOAT crowned on Sunday.

That's just around the corner regardless. He deserves to be merely #2 all time with the joke performances against Nadal. Tough to call him a great competitor when he shrinks away from his biggest challenges.

Every time it seems like someone is going to totally run away with it, someone else pops up to crash the party. Standing-by for the next party crasher.

OK, yes, it was one of his biggest challenges, but aren't you guys the ones to say that it's just a H2H issue? It IS a h2h issue, by and large.

Head to head is obviously important. Roger has/had a great career in spite of it but it sticks out like a sore thumb. On the biggest stages is where the greats are supposed to play their best. When Roger plays Rafa he folds up like a cheap suit and has done so ever since Wimbledon 08.

I hope that will be Nole again, finally grabbing that RG trophy. That is for the sake of that trophy, because if Rafa keeps winning it, he might crack the handle with his teeth

Djokovic will be a major factor at Roland Garros. I think it's silly to think otherwise.

Given the volatility currently in the 3-8 range of the rankings, it will be interesting to see who plays what tournaments before IW, to add points. Murray would be a notable example. There's going to be a big scramble to be in the top 4 by RG.

I see Rafa is playing the inaugural Rio Open. That's a cool 500 right there for him as well, not that he needs more daylight between him and the rest of the field.

I am also curious as to how Murray is feeling, back wise...is he going to take it easy, or push for some points like you mentioned.

Surprisingly, Murray is entered so far in only one event, on clay at Acapulco and no HC events. There will be a bunch of clay specialsits, led by Ferrer (no Rafa).

I hope Potato Starch comes back to ATP level (playing challengers lately) and has some good wins on clay.

Rafa's playing Rio, but he probably won't defend points in Chile, Sao Paolo or Acapulco, but, yes, a drop in the bucket.

I'm going to hope that Murray's back is good. Let's say it is. He needs to pick up some points and he needs match play. Maybe Rotterdam? I'd be surprised if he lays off until IW.

Ferrer has some points to pick up in So. America, and he always plays there. What about Juan Martin DP? He doesn't generally play down there, but needs to pick up points to stay at #3. Could be another boon year for the Golden Swing, if players are looking for points. What about Wawrinka? He's good on clay.

I already said, Murray is not entered in Rotterdam, only in Acapulco.
Ferrer who usually goes in Latin America to small events he now goes to the 2 500 events in Rio and Acapulco.
Delpo plays Rotterdam and Dubai. so is Berdych.
Berdych also plays in Marsilia.
Wawrinka plays in Montpellier, Rotterdam and Marsilia.
Roger plays only in Dubai, where of course Nole is entered.
Rafa also has entered in Argentina.
I think I had all, as far as top 8.

Wawrinka apparently wasn't too high on his chances of going deep at AO :)

He is scheduled to play Davis Cup, Montpellier, Rotterdam and Marseille in back to back weeks, right after AO, making it 6 straight weeks of tennis. Obviously that will change now.

Is that true? That's awesome! I've been arguing for that. Makes so much sense, for the event. They'll get big players before IW, which is just a hop skip and a jump.

Thanks Reddy. Now it makes sense for Murray to elect Acapulco.

Yeah, good news for Stan, he's been of those guys who's progressing very nicely, getting good results and going deep. he'll have a target on his back now, but just a sign of how well he's doing...
