then nadal gets number one, he should hold it for at least a year it would gave him a chance to get closer to the other greats.
You always have to overdo! When has Nadal ever held the #1 ranking for "any real" length of time? That's why he's woefully behind Fedovic in that category! Well over 30 he's all of a sudden going to dominate the tour? Please! :cuckoo:
first of all holding the 1 number one for a whole year is long time but want ever, second of all nada does not need to dominate the tour he just needs to win the most majors and get weeks at number one up.You always have to overdo! When has Nadal ever held the #1 ranking for "any real" length of time? That's why he's woefully behind Fedovic in that category! Well over 30 he's all of a sudden going to dominate the tour? I'm feeling a little more comfortable about Nole retaining the #1 ranking! Nadal's still ahead for the time being YTD, but Djokovic might be ok & could actually gain more pts in the YEC to finish ahead of Rafa; we can only hope! The 6th YE #1 w/b another feather in his cap!
Djokovic can do it but is unlikely nadal would have to play really bad or get injured for Djokovic to end number one of course it can happen but I think nadal going to get number one at some point.I started to feel more positive too. End of season (after USO) is where he usually collects tons of points if he is feeling well. He performed rather poorly outside of GS this year, with only one masters win. If he remains fit to play until the London there is a good chance he will fight it until the end to stay on #1. I just hope he wins Tokio and gets his form and mojo back for a start.
In case anyone is interested in understanding the scenarios where Rafa, Nole and Roger can end up as YE no. 1
I noticed that Caruso won a Challenger in Barcelona on Sunday. Look how young all those guys are, for a change!New career high on October 7, 2019:
34. Hubert Hurkacz 22y
40. Reilly Opelka 22y
54. Alexander Bublik 22y
79. Tommy Paul 22y
80. Gregoire Barrere 25y
81. Mikael Ymer 21y
98. Salvatore Caruso 26y
The new entrant this week in the top 100, Caruso from Italy.
The top ten for #1 isn't going to change anytime soon! With L. Hewitt in 10th place holding the top ranking for just 80 weeks, it probably won't have an additional name for years to come, even with potential of Med & Thiem!
so if medvee wins final he goes above federer to 3rd in race but still no4 in actual rank charts.
