This is sort of Fedal, sort of ranking, but I see that Rafa is 485 points ahead of Roger for 2 v 3. Leading up to USO, Rafa defends 1000 pts. in Canada, but didn't play Cincy, which is on his schedule this year, so far. Roger defends 600 pts. at Cincy, didn't play Canada, and has said he won't play it this year, either. The #2 ranking going into the USO is fully in play. Nadal's chances of holding onto it are better, if he plays both tune-ups and does reasonably well, but there is room for Fed to pass him.
Although I will be there, Rafa isn't playing Cincy after Toronto/Montreal.event. this is the part of the year Rafa has about a good 3-4 weeks left on those balky knees. A week of practice, a week for the Roger's Cup and two weeks at USO IMO

I heard this week something which I did not realize before, Fognini is the record holder being the oldest player to make the top 10 for the first time, at 32years of age.

I don't think Rafa has officially announced that he will Skip Cincy. I fully expect him to play there, especially if he does not manage to defend Montreal title (which will indeed be the case going by his history, as he has never defended any title outside of clay).

Nadal is cracking at USO most of the times when he plays. I wish he became a hard court beast once more before he retired. I miss seeing his great game outside clay. Remember back in 2010/2011, he used to be a greater player on these surfaces. Even on indoor hard, he was able to reach the final in 2010 at WTF.

Nadal won USO in 2017, so he did very well not a long time ago. Be happy he won it 3 times.

Rafa was pretty well beat up by the comp. last year at Flushing! He was taken to the limit again & again; Khachanov, Thiem, Del Po!! :lol3:

I'm about to pound on that fun. His name pronounces: [My-h-shack]. If you skip the middle "h" (because it sounds strange) he'll likely be fine with it, it's still understandable in Polish. But in English... I already predict the nickname he's about to earn. That is, if he improves more. If his stint ends around rank #100, no one is going to talk about him anymore beyond what herios just said.

So, with the "h" it would be something like "Mayer-Shaq"? Some hybrid version of Florian Mayer and Shaquille O'neal? That would be something.

Thanks for the clarification. I always try my best when it comes to pronounnciation, due to my occupation as a language interpreter. Nonetheless, only in Polish one could find 5 consonants in a row, as far as I know, and that is a headscratcher :)

hahaha, it gets even more fun for me. The way I read it is My - Hrčak and Hrčak (č is pronounced as ch in cheese) in croatian means a hampster.

I see his name more often these days. Talking about koreans, Chung managed to win last week challenger and is playing another one this week in Yokkaichi. A winner of that one gets 80 points. The struggle is real for those challenger guys out there.

You must be happy with Fritz hitting #25.

Stefanos is going places. Like his game and he has an edge to him.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention..what has Taylor Fritz done so far this year to have that high of a ranking..this has got to the worst top 50 ranked players over the past 5-9 years

Fritz jumped up in the rankings in the last 2 months, because he made 3 finals. He won in Eastbourne, was runner up in Atlanta and Los Cabos.
