FAA now up to #77 in live rankings. Looks like he's having his "micro-breakout." That's what I call when a player makes a jump into the top 100. A lot of players seem to hang out around #100-150ish for awhile, in what could be called "Qualie Purgatory." They usually need either a string of Challenger titles or a deep run or two in ATP tournaments, or even a minor (250/500) title. Looks like FAA is at least going deep in an ATP tournament.
Ugo Humbert is having a similar break-out, I think.

What is interesting is that Felix breaks into the top 100 just when Alex de Minaur turned 20 ( 6 days ago).
Therefore, there will be going forward 2 teenagers in the top 100 ( the 2 Canadians), as they were the last few months, Alex de Minaur and Denis.

Now he's up to #59 in the live rankings. If he beats Djere he'll be in the low 40s. Amazing run, even if he loses. He's now got main entry into Slams and can consolidate and build upon his ranking.

So, we have another example of a player, in Gunneswaran, reaching top 100 for the first time when about to go over the hill. If I remember right, he beat Sasha or Thiem in a grass tourney last year in the first round.

I was extremely busy today and I could not do it.
I will not start by criticizing you, because you did a pretty good job, however you have ommissions as well as included guys who did not actually posted new highs.

Gunneswaran entered the top 100 two weeks ago.

I'm taking note of Humbert and Londero, especially, and a bit Dellien, who I don't think most of us had on the radar until the last week or two.

Weird. I just went by live-tennis.eu and who was listed as "NCH." I assumed that "CH" wasn't new. I guess that is innacurate?

No, it is accurate. But you used it on Monday when everything is flipped and altered, with the results from the week 52 weeks ago.
You need to capture it on Sunday AFTER all the events are completed and BEFORE Monday morning.

Humbert is indeed collecting some good scalps in these last weeks. I noticed this as three or four times he stopped players I thought (or hoped) would go farther ahead. I had a mild disappointment with Londero's results following his breakthrough title, as he played pretty good tennis, but he still have time to disappoint me more.

I was about to write that Dellien is the first player from his country (Bolivia) to break through the top 100 (info I got from Braz press a while ago) but just cared to check and it is not true. The first was Mario Martinez 34 years ago. Kudos to both as I haven't seen a single tennis court in Bolivia (mind that basic tourist attraction in La Paz is a cableway that crosses the entire city, so you see it from above. I made the full line).

Fed back into top 4. :yahoo:
And order is returned to the universe. Almost.

Tsitsipas will reach the top 10 on Monday, the second NextGenner to make it after Zverev (if you don't count Thiem, born in '93).

Right. I mentioned it a few weeks ago that Tsitsipas is well positioned for the break through after Miami.
He played very well the last two weeks therefore he made it there earlier than I expected.
Watch him climb further, he will not stop here.

In other words, 15% of the players in the top 100 hit a new career high — that’s awesome.

I’m encouraged by a majority of them being younger (18-23), but also have a ton of respect for guys like Basilashvili, Fucsovics, and Pella (27-28) still showing a desire to improve.
