Next Genners are really starting to crowd the top 20. Only Zverev is in the top 10, but in the 11-20 range you've got Coric, Edmund, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, and Khachanov. Not far behind are Chung, Shapo, and de Minaur, with Tiaoe and Fritz rising.

A year from now we might see several Next Genners in the top 10, and a majority of the top 20-30 being born 1994 or later.

I didn't realize Grigor had fallen out of the top 20. What a pathetic excuse (channeling my inner Fiero ;).

Not yet. He may still wake up in Paris to avoid it.

You're right - was looking at the live rankings. Regadless, the "Lost Gen" has not built upon last year and done worse when they should be dominating. By my estimation they are not only the worst five-year generation of the Open Era (if we're going with born 1989-93), but are the only five-year generation that will almost certainly never be the dominant generation in a given year.

Even the previous weak generations--1974-78 (Kuerten, Moya, Rios, etc), 1954-58 (Borg, Gerulaitis), and 1939-43--all had at least one year in which they were the most dominant generation on tour (with the possible exception of that earliest one). Not this one - the baton will be passed over them.

The winner of last year in Paris, Jack Sock, if he loses in R32, is projected to plummet to 150 ranking spot.

Verdasco is playing well and has beaten his compadre before! It would be nice to get this out of the way early since it's inevitable!
H2H is 16-3 in favor of Nadal.

Again Nadal loses the no.1 ranking due to injuries. The Djokovic and Federer luck never ends. Get well soon Rafa :smooch:
