On another forum i regularly search and post famous tunes back when they was pressed on 78 rpm. I would like to add some here. It gives the listener what they look and sounded like when first released.

That sounds interesting. Thank you very much for sharing. Mother is a big Buddy Holly fan & that's her favourite of his songs. I like him too but prefer "Heartbeat". It's such a shame he died early in that plane crash which killed 3 good singers. He could have written & sung many other good songs. Who knows how big he would have been?

Thank you. Well it was 63 years ago Buddy left this world on Feb. 3 so i thought it would be appropriate to put some of his music here. Have you seen the videos i found and posted on how the Soviet Union treated Elvis and Beatles music throughout the 1950s and 1960's ? Hey I know a Beatles song you will love. Am going to post it on the Appreciation thread now.

You're welcome. That was a sad occurrence. I agree that it's appropriate putting some of his music here. I haven't seen the videos you posted as I've been very busy recently as I'm a moderator on another site now & I've been very busy working, doing course-work for my "Working with under-12s" course & I've got my exam on Wednesday. (I know, I should be busy revising & not messing around.) Thank you very much for posting that Beatles song for me. I'll listen to it when I get the chance & tell you what I think.

This is lesser-known Rick(y) Nelson song which was on his album "Windfall". Rick who started out as a clean-cut rock n roller TV idol ( and unfairly compared to and in the shadow of Elvis) by the 1970's reinvented his music and himself and converted to country music. Legacy is written by Dennis Larden who was a member of Nelson's Stone Canyon Band.

Happy Easter, everyone!

I came across this on youtube while watching Easter-related videos & doing Easter stuff. I don't believe that young girl is 10. She sounds older & has an amazing voice in my opinion. Her sister is good too.

Interesting version. I like the girl to the R, when she lifts to an octave higher at 4:11: very nice moment that gave me some chills...
And yes, that young girl on the L can well be 10, one can be that talented at 10, no surprise. She's not even as extraordinary as some other young prodigy examples. Compare her to e.g. Diana Akudinova:

I think Diana is around 18 here. Would you believe it? She sounds like 40-50 y old. She already sounded similar in her earlier (less known) recordings 3-4 years ago when she was 14-15!

It was surprising to me because where I am 10 year olds have much gentler voices than that. I like her sister too..

I don't like the version of the song that you shared because I don't like her voice. I've known people with voices like that who've been between 12-16 same as the 10-year-old with her sister.

Nice, sentimental mood, with positive Christian sentiments, thank you.
I'm in a different kinda mood though. Puddles created the version which reflects my mood exactly. Different than most people's mood. Not everyone understands nor cares about those for whom "Love is not a victory march it's a cold and a broken halleluyah"
