So, you and
@Kieran actually saw it?!
LOL, no I havent.
IMO The premise of the movie regarding the Dwarves was going to be hard to execute regardless, so to me it isn't a matter of woke or anti- woke. They work in the original film because they ARE cartoons, with exaggerated features & characteristics. Making them CGI interacting with real actors makes no sense to me, what is the point?
So many movies are of their particular time and culture, so you just cant expect them to be redone with no updating or changes for a new audience. Again thats not woke or anti- woke, that’s just common sense. Does anyone really expect every film made nearly 90 years ago would stand the test of time to be redone exactly the same?
Its hilarious to me how Rachel Zegler was skewered when some of the remarks she made about the original film were obviously made in jest or tongue in cheek. Now Her views on Palestine or how modern women don't beed a prince to rescue them, or on Trump, etc are her individual opinions , so I think others have latched on to that to blanket the film itself as some sort of “WOKE” propaganda. But again I haven’t seen the film yet.
Most likely I will see the movie, though all the real life adaptations of animated Disney movies so far haven't impressed me , most I have watched seem a bit lazy & uninventive in their approach.
Wasn't a huge fan of the original Snow White film anyways, found it OK but much preferred other Disney animated films such as Dumbo, Pinocchio & say, Bambi of that classic traditional era.
The film may be badly done or just not that good, which is one major reason why it’s struggling in the box office.
