The love to hate is a good catch, but my point is that it is "too soft". The very least required for a hate thread song is this (but is is still a bit soft):

Mrzz, looks like our musical tastes overlap a bit. When I was young teen I used to listen a lot of Ramones, Nirvana, Metallica. I don't anymore (as my taste evolved towards blues & jazz) but I don't mind to remember these pop riffs. However I hated "sweet" electronic disco, up to the point of regretting that I grew in such stupid era. All that Boney M, Abba nonsense or Lion King "variations" of 1980s & 1990s simply drove me crazy. And the popularity of this junk lingered in Poland for a long time after it cooled down in the West.
Luckily, at the same time we had artists who actually invented and played some original music (rather than programming the repetitive I-III-V chords). In context of this thread, it's worth remembering Mike Oldfield.
This bit is about "self-hate". The best of its kind.

Excuse me, please. I like Boney M & ABBA.

I just hate the extremely loud music Mr.Zz shared as the soundwaves reverberate through my ears that much they beat my ear-drum until it hurts. They really hammer my hammer too. (The common name for the malleus which is 1 of the small bones in your ear (ossicles) is the hammer.). (Word-play intended for fun.)

I like some of Mike Oldfield's songs too but I prefer "Moonlight shadow" & "Tubular bells" & the like.

Well, I hear a lot of blues actually. The bands you cited are not exactly in my radar -- Ramones to close to punk rock to my taste, Nirvana not really my thing (never liked grunge at all actually). Metallica much closer to what I use to hear, I actually like their second, third and fourth albums. I am really an "orthodox" heavy metal fan. The farther away from "orthodoxy" I go in the metal department is to hear some progressive metal (bands similar to Dream Theater, which is the better known one in the genre, even if not on top of my list).

Thanks for the clip, btw. Nice song, didn't know it.

We are wonderfully different in many aspects. In this aspect, if you allow me to be descriptive, my malleus is hard and does not mind a bit of reverberation, while my brain does not accept certain rhyme schemes, esp. too much percussive repetitions characterising the so called "disco" music.

We definitely are different in many ways. I like all different rhyme schemes but don't like too much repetition in songs. For example, when I was 10 my Uncle wanted to teach me to sing "When the Saints go marching in." but I wouldn't as there weren't enough words. I told him that if it was the 1st song I ever learnt I would but it was boring. I've sung it later on though when I learnt about the time it was written. I don't mind singing it now as I know about the time it was written & how things were then. I still think it needs more words though.

I hate the fact that the US government doesn't do shit to help it's own homeless people. I hate the fact that they don't clear all medical debt. I hate the fact that the US govt treats immigrants like dog shit. I also hate the US government for spending on military than the poor. What a sad govt.

I used to live in the US as a legal immigrant and just got back to India this year. I'm an Indian but I lived in the US for 7 years. I like American people, they're friendly and large hearted people. That's why it's heartbreaking for me to see homeless people in the US because all of them could be taken care of given how much money the US govt have. If the most powerful country in the world can't take care of it's own people then what's the point of living? Here in India we have a lot of poverty but we don't have the kindof money that US has, also we have a bit corruption and it's not that much corruption in the US.

Also in the US when a person loses his job, how is he supposed to afford healthcare? Losing a job in the US is a fate worse than death.

The 2019 US Dept. of Defense budget is $686 billion dollars. Think about what could be done with so much money.

I don’t know about the corruption in India, but there’s a significant amount of corruption in the US government, too — the government is here to serve the financial interests of corporations and the ultra-rich.

Also in the US when a person loses his job, how is he supposed to afford healthcare? Losing a job in the US is a fate worse than death.

Approximately 2/3 of all bankruptcies in the US are because of medical bills. Yet $686 billion is being funneled into the Pentagon.

Oh my god that is crazy. US Govt is committing an atrocity over it's own citizens. 686 billion. I don't even know if that can be counted? It's so sad what greed can do.

I hope Bernie can come to power and completely funnel that money into helping the homeless people and erasing their medical debt and better yet free healthcare to everyone.

Everyone hates me.
You have to agree.
I just annoy all I see.

I don't listen enough.
People say I need to be tough.
Life for me so far has been rough.

I have too much to say.
People don't like that at the end of the day.
I'm hardly ever happy & gay.

*Footnote: I'm using gay in it's original sense here meaning it's another word for happy not that I'm a lesbian.

I wish there was a stronger word than hate to describe what I feel about cilantro. It poisons everything it is put in, the devils herb !
When I go to any restaurant, I look at the menu to see if anything has cilantro in it. If yes, I tell the waitress to make sure none of it touches my food because I am deadly allergic. Otherwise they don't give a fuck. The odd time I bite into something without knowing that there is the devil's puke in it, I feel like dying and my whole week gets ruined.
I come from a culture where we eat everything man, nothing goes to waste. The only thing I cannot tolerate is cilantro. I looked into this of course because this repulsion I have is not ordinary. Needless to say there are internet groups that are made up of cilantro haters and it turns out there is a big genetic component to this. Roughly 25% of the population has a certain receptor that makes them hate the vile weed.

I hate, loathe & detest that too as it tastes absolutely disgusting to say the least. (I can't really say anything though as I've got extremely sensitive taste-buds so what tastes slightly strong to others tastes over-powering to me.)

This is a pet-hate of us women that the men won't understand. I hate it when you need a certain colour lipstick which normally is the right colour when you put it on but every so often the chemicals in your skin go funny so the colour is different. E.g. I tried on all my dark red lipsticks which normally look dark red on me but the last couple of days they've been going bright on me & I needed dark red for a 1940's day. Oh well! You can only do your best & everything went well. Eye-shadow & blush sometimes go like that on me sometimes. I've heard it's because chemicals in your skin sometimes react differently to the products you put on your face.

What I hate, in that vein, is when you have a great lipstick or lipliner, it's perfect, and they discontinue it. That sucks!

I really hate the twee nicknames for players on the tennis threads (and teams on the NFL threads.) I mean the ones that you have to guess at. I know folks like it because it's "insider," I suppose, but I hate really having to guess who we're talking about. I'm fine with nicknames, and there are some clever ones out there. The ones we've mutually agreed upon, or are at least obvious. But when folks go deep in to be cute, it hits me in my gag reflex.

What I really hate in the tennis threads is when people are having an "who can be the most insulting person" competition as if they can't treat other people with dignity & respect. I don't mind banter. I mean when people are just hurling insults at others & meaning it & just having a match to see who can be most insulting.

Yes, flame wars. That's just ugly. I hate that, too. Nothing to do but back away.
