I think he is taking down nole tomorrow. he has to serve well and keep the error count down like he did today in that first set for instance.

it is a strategic move for him to tank should he do so. why?

for 2 reasons:

1. he is at the limit so he risks mental and physical fatigue. and that could lead to injury. given the choice, he needs to try to bag WTF. his #1 rank is gone anyway. he cant do a thing about it. nadal will have more than enough points between the 2 events-- paris and wtf.

2. why give nadal another win if it plays out that way. this also assumes that nadal will derail ferru.



my own prediction: Federer in straights tomorrow.

fed had the right idea but just started to miss a little too much in the 2nd set.

that was the only way to win: he had to strike big and strike quickly before nole found his rhythm off the ground.

I also think that fed should have jerked him around a little bit with drop shots and short slices.

Shirley Bassey is a singer, although knocking on a bit now in years. She was a big star in the UK. I don't think she had as much success with hits in the States but can still sell out in Vegas and did a bit on Broadway also.

My late Nan knew the family from their Cardiff roots - her brother Henry was at my nan and grandad's golden wedding anniversary. He was pretty well gone on the drink and after earlier falling off his chair we had to pull him free from a drainpipe hole he'd managed to get his foot lodged in.

Shirley might be best known in the US for her James Bond soundtracks.
