there is nobody around but that is to be expected. it will take 3 long years before we have around 200 members or so.

no worries. all it is meant to be is a little place to tinker around with. it is just nice to call a few places home.

anyway I just created this for tennis frontier:

**this image is quite unique. I made roger out of grass. he is in disguise.

feel free to move it to any other section of the forum.

I will post one copy at the art gallery as well so people can see it.

I was watching roger`s doubles match that general masterclass posted at Camelot.

roger is starting to find his form again. and the chinese player is not too shabby.

he is also quite tall. I think around 6 foot 2 but he looks taller than that.

Hey Clay, don't get me wrong but may I ask why are you so desperately trying to create your own forum? I don't quite get it. I mean Tennis Frontier already is the kind of forum and familiar home you are always dreaming of and craving for. It's neither too big nor too small and it already has 200+ members and 25-30 regulars many of which you are friends with and know for a long time since the days of tennis.com. You have been given a huge platform here and the most important thing - you are being held in high esteem. People may disagree with your opinions but you are a valued and appreciated member here for all your work. Britbox is always open for conversation. I'm sure there is a way for you, Emma and all of your friends to find a home here without much drama. You are all valued as far as I know.

Edit: Anyway I'm glad to see you around.

I am never desperate didi. I just wanted my own little place to tinker around with. it is just nice to have several places that I can call home.

and I just wanted some of the folks here to know that they are welcome to stop by and say hello. I am just being kind as I usually am.

I have been busy but I am still around. I consider baron britbox a special friend so I will always stop by his forum and say hello and stuff.

he has stopped by the castle at mtf from time to time and he was kind enough to stop by tennis4you and ask me to check out his new forum.

at any rate did I am who I am and I have my ways. there is no way in hell I can please the world so I just try to have fun and do whatever I please.

people can walk along, follow, or get the hell out of my way.

thanks for your kind remarks didi.

Moved for a student exchange year. I think I've mentioned about that previously here.

Even though I've enjoyed my stay here so much that I may live here also in the future.

Cool. Where in Germany?

Passau. In Bavaria, right on the border of Austria. A very beautiful town with old buildings, rivers, and hills. I really love to live here.

And I must say there would be so much to see in Germany. The nature in the south, close to the Alps is so different than in north, close to the sea.

I have been to Frankfurt Germany but I never got the chance to run around there.

the place I want to see is hamburg and maybe even catch that clay tournament there while I am around.

Scotland, Germany, southern france, spain, and Portugal are all on my list.

I've worked in Hamburg and Frankfurt...not so enthralling, though I'm dying to go to Berlin. And Munich is darling. I hope Italy is on your list, too, Clay Death. Glad you're back on the Frontier Bar. Make mine a margarita, please. Frozen, with salt. :celeb:

Hi Didi, thanks for the well intended post. I can't speak for herc but from time to time I do give him friendly suggestions. Personally I prefer whatever herc likes to do, because like all human beings, he'll make mistakes in the process and learn from these mistakes, which is essential for human growth, but as I've mentioned before, from time to time I'd like to give him suggestions. And because I mean well, those suggestions are very well received by him. The reason why herc now has his own forum is because he got burned a few times in the past and the idea he has and the passion he feels is not ideal for all these forums. Plus, he's really never given the true mod status so he felt short a few times. I am sure every one has their own reasons but that was something he felt strongly about. Personally, I feel he'll be very happy with his forum if it has the potential to grow. He does take all the necessary steps to build it and has his intentions well placed. He's good at heart and won't stab anyone in the back if other remain true to their words.

As to myself, well I've been struggling a great deal with the online forums lately and all. I had to leave Murray's World because first of all, it gets a bit too personal at times; second, there's so much the forum owner could do under the circumstances created by some of the regular posters who tend to get rude and mean very easily. In any case, it wasn't a very ideal place for me, so after I set the tone for Wimbledon, I had to leave for good. That led me to come back to Tennis4u after a few weeks, but that too got out of hand because of Alex and almost right away. So herc needed a place to hang out and he suggested that we move here and we did. Whatever happened here I am sure you are aware of it. Personally I felt my freedom was slightly compromised and my freedom means everything to me as I trust my own judgment though I could be wrong at times I admit or misinterpreted. Anyway, I just couldn't continue with the drama anymore especially when I realized I didn't have to be on any forum, so I had to cut down all but Camelot tennis (in the meantime, I had gone MIA from time to time to adjust the ongoing dramas as it seemed never ending and could essentially bring you down, especially when you were only looking to relax ). CT just a very relaxing forum for me. I have nothing to worry about. It feels very comfortable which I need very much right now for sanity' sake. Dunno what lies ahead but for now, Camelot is enough for me to get by and of course, work gets in the way more often than not for me to post on one too many forums.

Anyway, I thought I'd give my side of the story and there it is. Thanks again for your kind post! :)

I've visited Munich twice during my stay here in Germany. In the first trip we just walked from the railway station to the Oktoberfest and later back, so we didn't get to see much of the city. I just remember that the railway station was a fugly building, it was like the post-war Finnish architecture.

So Munich didn't look like such a great place then, I was happy I live in Passau. But I had another trip to Munich last week and despite going to the Oktoberfest again, we had time to see some of the city. There were some really beautiful buildings like Rathaus and we visited also the English Garden. I really want to see more of Munich during this year, we were going to go to the Olympic Park but we didn't have so much time as we wanted to go to the Oktoberfest.

Still, I prefer Passau. Munich is such a big city, the nature is closer in Passau and I like how there are hills in the town. Still, if I ever got a job in Munich, I could definitely live there.

That was an interesting and insightful read, thank you Emma. I won't comment on Clay Death's reasons for his new forum because the way I see it is that mistakes have been committed by both sides and I'll leave it at that. If Clay is happy with his decision then it is good the way it is I guess. Anyway I really hope that Camelot Tennis will be a huge success and to see you still around on Frontier for years to come. I will register on Camelot and try to contribute when I have time.

@August: I just recently moved to Germany due to a new job. You are in Bayern/Bavaria, I'm in Saarland which is by far the smallest state in Germany and very close to the national border of France, in fact some small villages are still quite French due to historical reasons. So far I've been to Stuttgart, Cologne and Hamburg this summer. Beautiful cities, especially Hamburg with its harbour being bigger than the entire state of Saarland, haha.

What I like in Germany is that there there are geographically different areas (like North compared to South) as well as culturally different areas (like French influence in Saarland). There would be so much to see in this country.

And I live so close to Austria that I really want to visit there. Even though I've actually already been to Austria. I was on a trip to the Bavarian Alps, and we drove about 20min in Austria.

Switzerland is a bit too far from here to visit but I know students have had trips to the Czech Republic, I may be visiting also there.

@CD The site is very much a combined effort between myself, tented and moxie. It's far from being just my own. They probably spend more time on the forum part of it than I do, so credit where it's due. We also have some great blog contributors and forum mods who give up a lot of time that is highly appreciated.

@Emma/Didi I think the dust has settled on all the old Castle stuff. Everyone seems to have found a happy medium and are posting where, when and what they feel comfortable with. All good IMO.

@August Oktoberfest sounds good. Hope you had your drinking shoes on!

If you go to Austria, I went skiing in Kitzbuhel, which is great for that, and very quaint. Also, they have a 250 ATP tournament in July, if you're still around. I'm not sure, but I think it might be the highest altitude of any ATP tourney. Clay, btw.

I'm a bit critical here. Oktoberfest is great if you get into a tent. You can easily get into a chat with people you don't know.

BUT, unless you have a reservation, it's hard to get into a tent after 3pm. In my 2nd visit we didn't get in. But it was a good trip anyway, we could see the city of Munich as well as enjoy rollercoaster, etc. But unless you have a reservation to a tent, it's better to come early if you want to enjoy activities like roallercoaster before going to tent. It's not too nice to be queuing for hours.

Yeah, Kitzbühel is a famous ski resort. I really wanna go to ski at the Alps in the winter.

And I may go to see some ATP-level tennis. Kitzbühel is a bit far but I may have a one-day trip to ATP Munich. With friends you can have train ticket for a day with less the €10 per person.

Btw, Gstaad is even higher than Kitz. On clay but maybe interested to get to grass. Altitude grass would sound so cool.

^ Altitude grass?! Wouldn't that be much like a kangaroo trampoline contest? I fear the results might be "inconclusive." :laydownlaughing
