Sad but true mate. Those jobs won't be in Finland long.

It's sad to see iconic brands swallowed up. I remember in the UK when Kraft foods bought Cadburys (chocolate)... load of rubbish about keeping jobs locally and they moved them away the first chance they got.

Nokia already have move a lot of jobs abroad.

And I remember the big fuss about moving the manufacturing of the most famous Finnish mustard brand, Turun sinappi (Turku Mustard), from Turku to Sweden (and now it's in Poland). A new mustard brand began to be manufactured in Turku, Auran sinappi (Aura Sinappi), named after the Aura river in Turku.

I might buy a Jolla phone in the future unless they were quite expensive. Jolla was founded by former Nokia employees, and now the only Finnish phone brand.

It will eventually create massive long term problems for Europe and the U.S. - they'll have a small HQ locally, contract out the service side to India and the manufacturing to China, Korea or other eastern nations.

You wonder where the jobs will come from in future generations.

Shawn, would you happen to have a keg of Guinness?

Well, of course, but, alas, 'tis empty. :p

Did you go to the Guinness brewery in Ireland shawn?

Oh yes, sir! It was a thing of beauty. It was so enjoyable, I then had to shanty over to the Jameson distillery--and all of this was on my birthday! :p To say I had a fabulous day would be a gross understatement. :snigger

Can someone explain this to me? A polish tennis site had problems with the sponsors and stuff and the article writer mentioned that some gambling programs are forbidden by polish law :s I don't know anything about gambling and internet laws so why can this affect the site? i guess not bec of the hosting cause if it had a polish host they could move the whole website to a new non-polish hosting service, is it cause of the polish owners or bec the site was copyrighted in poland????? anyone delved into this?

My impression of their explanation is that they haven't been able to find advertisers other than the gambling sites, which are now forbidden under Polish law. They must have essentially had one advertiser -- some Polish gambling site -- and now they have no one, so they're going out of business. Again, that's just my impression, so I could be wrong.

I think that's on the grey area. Does the jurisdiction depend on the location of the hosting service or the location of the site owner? Maybe the site owner doesn't know about the possibility of switching to a non-Polish hosting service or feels it's a bit risky way for a Pole to circumvent the laws.

Good evening people.

Currently again guttered about Roger last night :(
It's so sad to see my favourite player and top player fade away like this.

Hi Javi,

Good to see you around. Fed's loss was a surprise, but I guess the manner in which he went down was more disturbing.

I guess this year won't get a whole lot better, although I still think he'll be playing better than this next year.

It was surprising and disappointing. Were you able to watch it?

Thanks for the PM, Owen. I'll try and answer it later on!

I think this is a transition year, hopefully he will be a bit better next year. I think the persuit of #1 and the 17th Slam last year cost him dearly now.

I only watched it from 6-7 3-5, Fed got plenty of chances but f*cked them all up.
His confidence is shattered at the moment.

I heard a realistic Roger afterwards at the press conference. I guess it's getting "normal" now. I am not so shattered anymore like I was after the Stakho match.

I think this is a huge factor these days. Fed's confidence is almost nonexistent. But then it's a bit of a Catch22: lacking confidence to get the win, but not getting the win because he's lacking confidence. Or something like that. ;)

that seems plausible, I wouldn't have thought it's so hard to get international sponsors...... probably it also depends on the level of the site and the potential the sponsors see in it......

Any gamers on the boards?

I've moved the Games Room into it's own area and we now have sections for Xbox, Wii, Playstation, PC, Apps, Forming clans ..etc

Might take a while to get to get going.
