I didn't see Andy or Novak while I was at work today. Can't comment on their form. Nadal looks pretty good for a faster court.

affirmative. I am seeing some improvements in the following areas:

1. return of serve

2. willingness to go forward

3. the backhand

the serve was not all that great today. I think he was serving at around 48% at one point.

that, however, does not mean that I am happy with him.

good heavens. I had no idea.

are you 100% sure he is playing with a 100 sq in racquet?

I have not paid much attention to it. I had always assumed that it was 90 racquet.

I hit with heavy topspin. bigger racquets did not work out for me.

Djokovic and Nadal use 100 sq in. Murray uses 98 sq in. Almost all
ATP players use racques in the range 95 to 105 sq. in. Fed is in the
small minority, if not the lone exception.

Novak came near to dropping his first set, but righted the ship. I didn't see Murray, but the score line was impressive. Rafa looked fearsome tonight. TBH, Roger looked like the back is still bothering him, but he got through. From their first appearances, I'd say Andy or Rafa, just to tweak your tail, CD. ;)

good to see you princess mox.

I am just glad that he is not injured and on the sidelines.

its good to see him out there doing his thing. the sport needs him.

I just worry about the knee and his longevity in the sport.

I started that thread about the sport`s greatest weapon on the tennis discussion page just for kicks.

I think nadal`s and roger`s forehands have to be the most destructive shots in tennis.

especially when they are both on the top of their game.

those 2 forehands and isner`s first serve.

I realize isner`s first serve is impossible to deal with but these 2 forehands have owned the planet for nearly a decade.

they have ruined many lives with those forehands.

We all worry about the knee, babe, but there's nothing for it. Just move forward. It's Rafa's (and his team's) job to worry about his health.

Meanwhile, so cool and dry here, I'm wearing a sweater. :)

so who has the order of play for tomorrow:

I wonder if roger has the night match tomorrow.

and what a blockbuster match it is.

speaking of Napolean`s army, I am reminded of many great wars of the past. I guess I was just thinking about them earlier.
